Behind Every Door

Culture Meeting looked a little different today! 🎡

This morning, our Behind Every Door team gathered at the State Fair of Texas for fellowship and fun outside of our usual Monday rhythm.

We’re especially grateful to the generous donor who made this experience possible for our team. Thank you for investing in the people who show up every day to serve our community.

A good reminder that strong teams are built through connection, encouragement, and shared moments too.

There's a story behind every door. 🚪

Joseph is 13 years old and full of potential.

Through Behind Every Door’s after-school program, Joseph was connected with a music producer and professor who is now mentoring him and expanding his vision for what’s possible.

He’s also growing through golf, building skill, confidence, and discipline along the way.

But what stands out most is his heart. Joseph talks about using his future success to help others who are struggling with depression, addiction, and self-worth.

“All it takes is one conversation,” he says. “I want to be that person.”

At Behind Every Door, Joseph has found mentorship, direction, and a community that believes in him.

And at 13, he’s beginning to believe in himself.

There's a story behind every door. 🚪

At BED, Christian is surrounded by caring staff and mentors who support him through homework help in our after-school program, Bible teaching, encouragement, and opportunities to try new things, including golf.

“Mr. PJ and Mr. Caleb teach me about the Bible,” Christian says. “And Mr. Mark taught me how to play golf. I love it.”

Christian proudly wears a small crown as a reminder of his identity and worth.

His story reminds us why consistent care matters. Every child deserves to feel seen, supported, and reminded that their life has purpose.

There's a story behind every door. 🚪

What began as a facility support internship through Behind Every Door and Men of Nehemiah has grown into a passion for teaching golf and mentoring students.

Today, Mark works with 35–40 after-school students and is helping prepare teams for a summer league at Cedar Crest Golf Course.

His story is a reminder that when faith, opportunity, and community come together, futures can begin to change.

“To God be the glory.”
