Queridos amigos, hoy les traigo La niña bonita.
Y de verdad que es bonita esta contradanza.

Hay algo que me hace querer quedarme especialmente en la segunda parte.
Este tema me sugiere una idea de reclamo y consuelo a la vez, como un llanto que siempre va acompañado de algo que lo calma y lo va diluyendo.

Last week at the Nest, internationally acclaimed pianist Wynona Yinuo Wang () presented a captivating program as part of Season XVIII, tracing dialogue between tradition, memory, and place. Winner of the 2018 Concert Artists Guild International Competition and the Arthur Rubinstein Commencement Award at Juilliard, Wang has performed at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and the Sydney Opera House.

Her Phoenix program brought together Scarlatti, Rachmaninov, Prokofiev, and Grainger, alongside works that expanded the boundaries of classical repertoire. Australian composer Aristea Mellos (), whose ‘Prelude’ was featured, was present for the performance—a rare moment of connection between performer and composer. Two pieces by Zhang Zhao, ‘KangDing Love Song’ and ‘Pi Huang’, drew on Chinese folk and operatic traditions, evoking Wang’s own memories, “When I was a kid, my grandma would play Peking opera all afternoon. Now, when I perform them, I can smell the ribs—it brings me to a place in my heart that feels like home.”
