UCCD HUMANITARIAN ACTIVITY REPORT:
- FINANCIAL DONATIONS REPORT. PLEASE FOCUS ON FINANCIAL DONATIONS.
- HUMANITARIAN ITEM DONATIONS STOP THIS SATURDAY.
Dear Friends โ with war going on in Ukraine, UCCD has been a major driving forces behind organizing Ukrainian community in DFW and providing much-needed financial and humanitarian help to our war-stricken country. Ukrainian Americans and our American friends and neighbors have united as never before, to play a vital role in supporting the ongoing humanitarian aid efforts.
Over the course of last 3 weeks, UCCD has generated $180K in charitable donations. THANK YOU to all of our donors for your unparalleled generosity. Be assured that your donations went to a good cause, as we have distributed amounts below to various charities and humanitarian aid organizations:
โข $50K to Ukrainian American Coordinating Council, for the purchase of protective gear for the civilian defense units.
โข $20K to Daruj Dobro โ Kharkiv-based charity that organizes humanitarian aid deliveries to civilians hiding in bomb shelters and subway stations for safety reasons.
โข $20K to Misto Dobra, for housing, medical aid, food and hygiene items of internally displaced people.
โข $20K to Charity fund Pilgrim, to support the children and adults in care or this organization.
โข $20K to WILNI Org, which supports children in ATO zone, as well as fighters and wounded warriors coming back from Donbas.
โข $20K to Caritas-Zakarpattya, which is a charitable organization supporting humanitarian aid efforts out of Uzhgorod regions.
โข $7K to Kyiv-based territorial defense, to support immediate needs following the onset of war.
โข The remaining funds will be used in the days to come. Please, help spread the word of our work to keep the donations coming!
In addition, we have already shipped more than 7 tons of humanitarian aid supplies, mostly the much-needed trauma first aid supplies such as tourniquets, bandages, blood transfusion kits, blood clotting medicines, etc. Our volunteers worked tirelessly to sort/pack/ship the items. A portion of the donations we received will be used to cover the shipping costs, once the logistics company provides us the bills. Please note that MEEST (our shipping partner) informed us about a logistical bottleneck for Ukraine shipments. We can no longer get humanitarian aid into Ukraine fast enough. This means that starting with next week we will STOP TAKING PHYSICAL ITEM DONATIONS. This Saturday will be the last shipment, so please help us spread the word!
