This is a patient diagnosed with prolonged chronic kidney infection and in need of constant dialysis.. Due to delays in his periodic scheduled dialysis, fluid is now in his lungs.. he needs urgent and constant financial support

The time has finally come for action,we will be having weekly group discussions concerning areas of lack in our communities. This week my mind has been plagued with the disparity of school system across the globe. For instance here in America all children are required to go to school daily. Yes,if the community is poor the school itself will lack proper resources for efficient learning, however in more prominent communities the schools are better supported and the chances of those children being projected into higher education is greater. Now when we take the continent of Africa into consideration their is No government ordained policy to regulate the school system. All schools require tuition be it Primary School,Secondary, or University level. If the parents don’t have the tuition the child will go without an education. In many instances these children are forced into the streets to hustle, hawk goods, or do illegal things to help support their families. One thing for certain across the globe children in Africa and in diaspora are lacking. Is it enough? What do you think it will take to systematically bridge the educational gap for our children as a whole ?? We want you opinions, you thoughts, your passion… chime in.

Meet our CEO, Michael Oluwakayode Lawal, Founder and brainchild of this magnificent cause. With his Bachelors in Public Administration From Olabisi Onabanjo University Ogun State it would seem that he has had a calling on public health since the beginning. In his early professional years he was Public Administrator Assistant to the Commissioner for Social Welfare, Culture, and Tourism Kwara State Nigeria under the Late Commissioner Helen Olabisi Popoola from 2007 - 2009. This Position first opened his eyes to the great need that plagued the community in his homeland and planted the seeds of philanthropy in his heart, mind, and spirit. This stint allowed him to see just how great the divide was between the privileged and the poor as he supplied handicapped with wheelchairs and other needs, and his heart grew for the underprivileged. Time passed and as it did Mr. Lawal continued in his entrepreneurial spirit with the establishment of Gemini De Crystal International Limited in 2010 , bringing contracts and jobs to Nigeria, and later Gemini De Crystal Enterprise here in the US.
Life and time soon brought Michael Oluwakayode Lawal to the shores of the United States where he is now a citizen. One day as he watched his children play he wondered what type of life they may be experiencing had they been born to a different family under different circumstances without the ability to travel and thrive as they do. “ How would my children be living had they been born under a different Surname?? Had they not had opportunities allowing them to come to the US where public school is free ??? How different would their reality be???” What a difference in the realities of so many children born into different circumstances all over Africa !! It was at that moment that the seed for MKO Foundation sprouted into a sapling. In that moment the middle Son of the late HRH Bello Lawal, engineer and Former State Chairman for SDP Party 1992 and the lovely mother Caroline Lawal Retired Chief of Nursing Officer, saw what his great contribution to this world would be. He longed to be a bridge to aid all communities of the diaspora in ushering in healing, help, and education assistance.

MKO Foundation's mission stands to be a noble and honorable one. Our CEO and Founder has developed a soft spot pertaining to the poverty stricken and disenfranchised. Living in the United States has brought his attention to the difference between school systems in his home compared to where he now resides. The ability to receive proper and quality education is a right within the states... however is only a privilege amongst the children of Africa whose families can afford it. Also, seeing his people struggle once they have made it to the States touches his heart. Beyond that he feels a pull to aid and assist with filling the financial gap for those who are trapped in poverty with no access to food, jobs, or simple daily privileges that we take for granted every day. Shelter and food should be a basic human right to ALL.
Our mission is to bridge the gap between the privileged and the non privileged ,within the Africans globally providing relief for families who cannot afford to pay for primary as well as secondary school. We will begin with the goal of securing and providing scholarships for students for the trajectory of one full school year, Also, we take up the charge of feeding the hungry and attempting to improve shelter, clothing, and feeding for the disenfranchised.
We would like to thank you for choosing to take this journey with us. With God's help we can make a difference in so many children and family lives. Our goal may not be an easy one to meet, however, with determination and compassion we can do our part in healing our people 1 soul at a time. “$1 can save 1 soul !!!”
