Date:July 18
Time:1:00 PM CST / 11:00 AM PST
Format: Virtual (Zoom)

In this workshop, you’ll receive proven, concrete strategies to strengthen every element of your law school application, including:

✓ Guidance on letters of recommendation, experience and perspective essays, and addenda

Win a Free Application Review from Spivey Consulting Group: Three randomly selected participants will win a full application review with a former law school admissions dean, valued at $775. Winners will submit their complete application package—transcripts, CAS report, application form, resume, and all essays—and receive a one-hour virtual consultation to discuss strategic revisions and get their questions answered.

We are honored to announce Jessica Stacker as a 2026 Bridging the Gap Scholar!

Jessica graduated with honors from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2023 with a degree in Political Science. Throughout her academic career, she has demonstrated the self-determination and resilience that define exceptional future attorneys—turning obstacles into fuel for her pursuit of a legal career.

Jessica is drawn to Big Law for its rigorous training, mentorship opportunities, and the ability to handle high-profile, complex cases with far-reaching implications. Equally important, she views Big Law as a platform to build the skills and financial stability necessary to give back—both to her family and to communities in need of pro bono and public interest legal services.

We are proud to support Jessica as she takes the next step in her journey.

We are pleased to introduce Kacy Askew as a 2026 Bridging the Gap Scholar!

Kacy graduated with honors from Louisiana State University in May 2024 with a degree in Mass Communications. She currently serves as a legal assistant at a large law firm, where she gains firsthand experience in corporate, real estate, and business matters. In this role, Kacy is often the only Black legal assistant in her office—a reality that has only strengthened her resolve to pursue a legal career and expand representation in Big Law.

Rooted in a family of educators, Kacy is deeply committed to advocacy, equity, and service. She aims to practice in intellectual property and real estate law, with a focus on helping Black creators, entrepreneurs, and families secure ownership and access to opportunities that have historically been out of reach.

We are honored to support Kacy as she prepares for law school admission in Fall 2027.

Final Push for the Bridging the Gap Scholarship!

We’re in the final rounds of fundraising, and we need YOUR support to cross the finish line! Join our incredible community of BTG Ambassadors by pledging a recurring donation of at least $25 per month or making a one-time gift of $100 or more.

Here’s the impact: $5,000 fully sponsors one BTG Scholar—covering LSAT prep, admissions consulting, a $1,000 application fee stipend, a Barbri Law Preview course, and dedicated mentorship.

Even $1,000 funds an LSAT course or consulting. Every dollar goes directly to scholars.

The results speak for themselves: BTG Scholars have been admitted to Harvard, Yale, Stanford, Georgetown, and more—and gone on to work at Skadden, Latham & Watkins, Quinn Emanuel, and other top firms.

We’re thrilled to welcome Elena LeVan to our Board of Directors!

Elena is a federal appellate law clerk whose career has been defined by purpose-driven service and an unwavering commitment to justice. From organizing food and resource drives for people experiencing homelessness as a child alongside her mother, to becoming a leading advocate for survivors of sexual violence, Elena has spent her life in service to others.

As an undergraduate at the University of Maryland, Elena found her calling in sexual violence prevention and response. She served as Director of Sexual Misconduct Prevention for the Student Government Association, Chair of the Title IX Student Advisory Board, and a Policy Intern for the Maryland Coalition Against Sexual Assault. She graduated in the top 5% of her class with the prestigious Adele H. Stamp Memorial Award for leadership, service, and academics.

Elena went on to Washington University in St. Louis School of Law, where she graduated Order of the Coif and received the Dean’s Service Award, Academic Excellence Award, and the National Association of Women Lawyers’ Outstanding Graduate Award. She founded Sexual Violence Prevention and Advocacy (SVPA), served as Senior Executive Editor for the Washington University Law Review, won the Golden Quill Award for the highest-ranked moot court brief, and co-taught an undergraduate course on Law, Gender, and Justice—all while volunteering as a YWCA Sexual Assault Response Team member supporting survivors in local hospitals.

Elena’s scholarship has earned national recognition. Her academic note, Fruit of the Poisonous Tree, which presents a novel legal theory protecting inmates who become pregnant as a result of sexual victimization, received the Law360 Distinguished Legal Writing Award at the 2024 Burton Awards, presented at the Library of Congress.

Her practice experience spans union-side labor and employment law, reproductive justice litigation, employment discrimination, immigration law, and the federal judiciary, including a clerkship with the Honorable Elizabeth Erny Foote for the Western District of Louisiana.
