My therapist told me something she saw that I just can’t get out of my head.

✨Old keys don’t open new doors✨

Not only can I relate personally, but also professionally. Think of how many clinics have changed without proper advocacy. Instead it’s just easier for them to stay the same. It’s comfortable. It’s known.

What does that cost you in the end? Of course the one thing they care about the most, profit, but more importantly people. Unfortunately, you can’t have one without the other. You can’t have profit without the people. Yet they’d rather watch them leave than make proper change to keep them.

You can’t expect people to want to stay when you’re unwilling to change for the greater good. The good of your people. Stop expecting people to stay in sh*tty conditions while you stay the same.

Stop expecting old keys to open new doors. ❤️

(Keys to my new apartment I got the beginning of the year. Starting over is scary but usually necessary ❤️)
