In completely unrelated news, I've got a new set of designs for the SCA's marshals. Five (edit: SIX!) versions (marshal, rapier marshal, archery marshal, combat archery marshal, thrown weapons marshal, and equestrian marshal), on sale at my TeePublic page until August 30.

Our Barony

The Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) is an international non-profit volunteer educational organization devoted to the research and re-creation of pre-seventeenth century skills. The Barony of the Steppes is a branch of the SCA based in Dallas, Texas and the surrounding areas. We offer a variety of activities like medieval combat, brewing, sewing, scribal arts, and much much more!

We are a part of the Kingdom of Ansteorra which encompasses most of Texas and Oklahoma. The Barony of the Steppes is the second oldest barony in the Kingdom. We were founded in 1973 as a Shire known as the March of the Steppes, and in 1975 we became a Barony. To date, the Barony of the Steppes has had 13 different holders in fief. The current Baron and Baroness are Baron Alain de la Rue and Baroness Katerine le Roux d'Anjou.
