Lake Highlands Public Improvement District We also advocate for development opportunities that spark the continued growth, health, and safety of the community.

The primary goal of Lake Highlands Public Improvement District (LHPID) is to enhance public safety services and provide aesthetically pleasing streetscapes within the district. The physical boundaries of the Lake Highlands Public Improvement District encompass a geographic area of more than 500 acres along the Skillman Road corridor from LBJ, on the north end, down to Skillman and Abrams on

the south end. Much like an HOA for homeowners, a public improvement district (PID) helps commercial property owners and involved residential owners maintain and revitalize public/common areas. A PID is a special tax assessment agreement between the City and property owners within a specified district to fund public improvements beyond existing municipal services. The Lake Highlands Public Improvement District Mission

The primary goal of Lake Highlands Public Improvement District (LHPID) is to enhance public safety services and provide aesthetically pleasing streetscapes within the district and along the Skillman corridor. Additionally, working with the Dallas Police Department, we support projects and events that promote the health and safety of the people in the community. Other examples of our projects are items such as: security patrols, litter and graffiti management, pedestrian lighting, signage, public landscape enhancements, promotional communications, and grant funds. More recently, with the onset of COVID-19, we have developed a way for businesses to reconnect with area residents by having a "Drive-Thru Blitz," where residents drive through a shopping center and collect free giveaways, coupons, or other materials at our area shopping centers that allow the businesses to promote themselves in a safe and fun manner.
