Please welcome Vesper (they/them) to the Badge Of Pride team as our new Volunteer Archive Associate.

Vesper joins us as we launch the Badge Of Pride Community Archiving Initiative and build the systems needed to steward more than 10,000 LGBTQ+ historical artifacts in our collection with care, consistency, and accessibility.

They will assist with cataloging digitized community photographs (starting with "The Way We Were") and help build our permanent collections management system as we work to standardize and strengthen the preservation of our collection.

A Master of Library Science candidate at the University of North Texas, Vesper brings both technical skill and a deep love of history to this work.

Thank you, Philadelphia! Badge Of Pride is Texas-bound after an incredible week at American Alliance of Museums 2026, and we are leaving with full hearts, new collaborators, and big plans ahead. Badge Of Pride:From Silence...To Celebration!" — the largest artifact-based LGBTQ+ history exhibition in Texas — opened at the Irving Archives and Museum in summer 2025, bringing generations of q***r history to North Texas audiences.

Produced by Badge Of Pride in partnership with the Irving Archives and Museum, the exhibition traced the journey of LGBTQ+ life in America: early erasure and silence, resistance and survival, the devastating impact of the AIDS crisis, the rise of political power, and Pride's evolution from its grassroots roots into a global movement.

Highlights included two blocks of the National Aids Memorial Quilt with deep North Texas connections, anchored by hundreds of artifacts spanning centuries of LGBTQ+ history.
