What a time we had during Queen City Community Week! 🎉

We kicked off the weekend with a community walk, and a little rain wasn’t going to stop us! We then gathered for a beautiful church service at Salem Institutional Baptist Church, leaving us in great spirits as we headed into our 4th Annual National Night Out last Tuesday.

A special thank-you to our sponsors, SouthState Bank and Parkland Health, for helping make the evening possible! From great food and entertainment to meaningful conversations and new connections, it was a wonderful evening celebrating what makes Queen City special.

A huge shoutout to the Queen City Neighborhood Association and Dallas Parks and Recreation for being such incredible partners in bringing our community together.

DCH invites our local small business owners, entrepreneurs, and community partners to join the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) for a free forum on connecting small businesses to capital, capacity, and growth opportunities.

Bankers, community development financial institutions (CDFIs), chambers of commerce, and business support organizations are sharing practical guidance on preparing for financing, understanding lender expectations, and using technical assistance resources to build resilient businesses in Dallas.

Attendees also benefit from the opportunity to network and explore partnerships that expand access to capital in our community.

Have you ever thought about how access to technology can shape our quality of life?

Digital access and literacy create educational opportunities, increase workforce participation, and improve healthcare access. The Hillburn Hills Community Center is now more than a third space for gathering; it is an information hub.

Through our Digital Lab, residents will have access to digital literacy workshops and a space to:

• Build and strengthen resumes
• Complete college and job applications
• Access telehealth appointments
• Develop the digital skills needed to navigate an increasingly connected world
• When residents have the tools and knowledge to fully participate, the entire community benefits.
