Great picnic with great patriots! Sorry if we missed ya!

Way too many folks brought way too many goodies to share! Great to see everyone that attended. Take a look above. Sorry that our Treasurer and his wife missed but he had to take care of a little bypass operation that took priority. (Follow-up report: all good news.)

Congratulations to all members. We won the 5-Star awards for chapter Level of Excellence, and both Harris Communication Awards (Newsletter and Website). We are the only chapter in the state to win all three 2024 awards at this highest level. Great work by a lot of people. It's a pleasure to be part of such a great volunteer organization.

Georgia Mountain Chapter MOAA

Our chapter is dedicated to encouraging leadership in both the Jr. and Sr. ROTC programs in North Georgia, supporting an annual For the Warriors Golf Tournament at Lanier Islands in June of every year, bringing recovering soldiers and their families to Lanier Islands Resort for an all expense paid time away from their current station where they are undergoing rehabilitation for wounds suffered in combat. This is paid for by donations, tickets for the Golf Tournament and volunteers. 100% of those donations goes to paying Lanier Islands Resort for the lodging and meals for these Vets and their families. This may be the only time during their recovery that they get away from their bases. All donations are tax deductible.
