Georgia Pick & Bow Summer Music Camp

Georgia Pick & Bow Summer Music Camp The program for the week will include three 40-minute sessions of instrument instruction during the day for each student, beginner through advanced.

Instruction will be offered on fiddle, guitar, mandolin and banjo at the beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels. Between these classes students will take three related classes in such areas as crafts (related to music), singing, and exercise/dance. Each day will end with an hour-long camp-wide activity—guest musicians, jamming, speakers, student showcase, etc.

There are some great workshops at Bear on the Square this weekend that will be of interest to our Pick and Bow family! At noon on Saturday, you can choose between old-time and bluegrass slow jams. Then there is a ukulele jam at 2 pm and a workshop on how to select and care for a fiddle at 3 pm, both in the Pick and Bow tent. Finally, we invite you to join a sing-along at 5 pm in Hancock that will include lots of Pick and Bow songs. The whole schedule is available on the website.

Our 2013 Pick & Bow Summer Music Camp will be held June 17-21, at Dahlonega Baptist Church. Doors open at 8:00 am and camp runs from 9 am until 3:30 pm, with late pickup ending at 4:30. We promise a lot of fun and learning! Contact Ann Whitley for registration forms.
