What a wonderful Water Day to wrap up an amazing school year at SonShine Weekday Preschool! 💦☀️

Today was filled with laughter, fellowship, water slides, sno-cones, hamburgers, hot dogs, and so many sweet memories made between our students, families, and staff. These moments together are such a special reminder of the beautiful community God has blessed us with at SonShine.

A huge THANK YOU to our amazing grill master for keeping everyone fed today and to our wonderful committee members who jumped in to help serve food, support families, and make the day run so smoothly. We are so thankful for servants who continually pour into our preschool ministry with joyful hearts. ❤️

As we close out another school year, we are overwhelmed with gratitude for every student, parent, teacher, volunteer, and church member who helped make this year so special. Thank you for trusting us with your little ones and allowing us to be part of their growth academically, socially, and spiritually.

We pray everyone has a safe, fun, and blessed summer!

🎓✨ Celebrating Our SonShine Graduates! ✨🎓

Today we celebrate a very special group of students who have grown, learned, and shone so brightly this year. It has been such a joy to watch each of you blossom in confidence, kindness, and love.

From first friendships to learning about God’s love, these moments have been the foundation of something truly meaningful. We are so proud of each of our graduates and can’t wait to see all the wonderful things God has in store for you!

Chapel time at Sonshine is an exciting time with our kid min pastor, Tylor, who shares worship songs, Bible verse memorization, and a Bible story that equip our young friends with the truths of our faith in Jesus Christ. Today, they learned about the cross and practiced the Bible verse John 3:16.

Today, our church took an important and historic step of faith in our history by voting unanimously in Called Church Conference to proceed with the necessary approvals and commitments to begin construction of a new expansion to our church campus.

This will be a two story structure dedicated to Children, our Weekday Preschool, Youth, Young Adults, and Families. Additionally, we will add needed Adult space in our existing lower level currently occupied by our Children's Ministry and Weekday Preschool Ministry. We pursue these steps of faith as a church family with a heart and vision to engage and reach the Next Generation of our community, surrounding areas, and beyond with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

There has been a strong spirit of unity and commitment toward this goal and pursuit marked by a deep appreciation for our past, and the faithful shoulders of previous generations upon which we now stand. For over 180 years Dahlonega Baptist Church has been in the heart of Dahlonega with a heart for Dahlonega. Twenty five years ago, our church took the leap of faith to move from the old church on South Chestatee to where our current sanctuary stands on Hawkins Street overlooking the Downtown Square. We continue in that same spirit as we put faith and hope to brick to pour into the Next Generation of DBC.
