🎉Congratulations to Ibrahima Diallo, whose long-standing contribution to the Francophone community is being recognized as a city of Winnipeg’s street has been named after him!

In addition to advocating for Francophones in his community and across the country, Dr Diallo has served on the Court Challenges Program’s Official Language Rights Expert Panel since 2022. The CCP is honoured to benefit from his invaluable insights.

🎉Félicitations à Ibrahima Diallo qui voit sa contribution de longue date au milieu communautaire francophone être reconnue alors qu’une nouvelle avenue de la ville de Winnipeg portera son nom!

En plus de défendre les intérêts des francophones dans sa communauté et à l’échelle nationale, M. Diallo siège au Comité d’experts des droits en matière de langues officielles du Programme de contestation judiciaire depuis 2022. Le Programme de contestation judiciaire tient à saluer la mémoire de Me Gérard Lévesque, qui laisse derrière lui une riche contribution à l’évolution des droits linguistiques au pays. Fier membre de la communauté franco-ontarienne, il a œuvré à l’épanouissement des communautés de langue officielle en situation minoritaire, y compris à titre de président du Comité des langues officielles du PCJ de 1987 à 1991.

Nous offrons nos plus sincères condoléances à sa famille et ses proches.

The Court Challenges Program would like to honour the memory of Gérard Lévesque, who leaves a rich legacy of contributions to the evolution of language rights in Canada. A proud member of the Franco-Ontarian community, he sought the flourishing of official language minority communities in so much of what he did, including as Chair of the CCP’s Official Languages Committee from 1987 to 1991.

We offer our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones.
