Halloween is creeping up, and the Dade City Police Department invites all our little ghosts, goblins, and superheroes to stop by for some Halloween fun! 🍬🚔

🍭 CANDY, CANDY, CANDY! We’ll be handing out treats to all our little trick-or-treaters!

🐾 Our very own K-9 Ghost will be joining the fun, so come by and say hello to our four-legged friend!

⭐ SPECIAL CEREMONY! Calling all little officers! Any child dressed in a police officer costume is invited to participate in a special ceremony with the Chief! 👮‍♀️👮‍♂️

Bring the kiddos in their Halloween costumes, grab some candy, meet K-9 Ghost, and make some spooky memories with your Dade City Police Department family! 🧡🖤

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

💗 Did you know breast cancer awareness has a history that goes back much further than the pink ribbon?

While pink ribbons became widely recognized in the early 1990s, organized efforts to raise awareness began decades earlier. The American Cancer Society and Imperial Chemical Industries launched the first National Breast Cancer Awareness Month in 1985!

🎀 Here are a few facts you might not know!

💕 Men can get breast cancer, too! Although much less common, approximately 1% of breast cancers in the United States occur in men.

💕 Not every breast cancer causes a lump! Warning signs can include changes in breast size or shape, skin dimpling, ni**le discharge, or changes in the ni**le.

💕 Family history isn’t always present. Most women diagnosed with breast cancer do not have a mother, sister, or daughter who has had the disease.

💕 Early detection matters! Mammograms can sometimes detect breast cancer before symptoms appear. Talk with your healthcare provider about when screening is appropriate for you.

🇺🇸 Why does this matter to the American Legion Auxiliary?

Because supporting our veterans, military families, and communities means caring about their health and well-being, too.

This October, we honor survivors, remember those we’ve lost, support those currently fighting, and encourage everyone to take their health seriously.

🎀 Awareness is more than wearing pink. It’s sharing knowledge that could save a life.

⚓ Happy 251st Birthday, U.S. Navy! 🇺🇸

On October 13, 1775, the Continental Congress established what would become the United States Navy.

For 251 years, generations of Sailors have served our nation at sea, ashore, and around the world.

Today, the American Legion Family at Post 15 proudly celebrates all who have worn the uniform of the United States Navy — including the Navy veterans right here in our own Legion family. ❤️🤍💙
