Farmworkers Self-Help, Inc.

Farmworkers Self-Help, Inc. Farmworkers Self-Help, Inc. was organized in 1979 to find solutions to the problems of the farmworker population. Border Patrol toward the Hispanic population.

was organized as a grassroots effort by immigrant Mexican and Mexican-American migrant farmworkers and former farmworkers to find solutions to the problems of the farmworker population. The original impetus for organizing was the abusive tactics of the U.S. The immediate area of organizing interest is Pasco County and parts of surrounding counties, and we also work in partnership with organization

s in other areas of the state and country on common issues affecting farmworkers and other poor. FSH facilitates self-development, self-help, grassroots organizing, participation and leadership development, and seeks to bridge the gap between isolation and societal mainstreams, while preserving cultural heritage. It is committed to farmworkers and other poor taking charge of their own lives and destinies. Direct maintenance services such as emergency food and clothing, shelter assistance, medical assistance and immigration assistance are provided because of the tremendous local need, but the majority of our efforts and programs work toward facilitating the self-development of the whole person toward self-reliance and personal independence, through community organizing, education, advocacy, justice and empowerment.

The omission of farmworkers from overtime law is a vestige of the Great Depression. A bill introduced by Sen. Kamala Harris would get rid of it.

It's about time.

It's about time.

“I’ve just introduced a bill to require that farm workers are paid minimum wage and have overtime rights. This is a matter of basic fairness and justice. https://t.co/d57Ks1P6km”

This November 6th, Florida voters will have the opportunity to give people who have paid their debts to society a second chance to contribute to their communities in a positive way.

Right now, Florida is one of only four states in the country that permanently bans Americans from participating in elections – even after they have completed their sentences. We will be working every minute from now until November to fix Florida’s broken system.

Nearly 1.5 million people in Florida are excluded from voting because of a prior felony conviction. Florida is 1 of only 4 states with a lifetime ban on voting. It's time to return their ability to vote. Vote YES on the Voter Restoration Amendment.

As a farmworker organization that has spent 47 year assisting farmworkers in Florida, we are very concerned about the Presidents latest stance on DACA. All those young people that have been studying to become good citizens and professionals are going to be sent back? And what are we going to have to replace them? Many young Americans are not interested in being good citizens; school drop outs are high, opioids have taken hold of our nation, prisons are full!! And let’s not forget, most of the murderers that took the lives of children in school shootings were white American males. I think we need to rethink what is happening in our country, while there is much wrong with our nation these days, these DACA youth are the very least of our worries. Have there been any bad apples? Perhaps, but one bad apple doesn’t spoil the whole bushel.

He threatened to kill DACA and wants to send the military to the border.
