In March of 2020 while the whole world was shut down, Karla And I felt led to try and impact transportation in Clay County. We were inspired by Patrick and the team at Mercy Support Services and actually thought we were just going to support their efforts. Turns out God had bigger plans! We started using our own funds and soon found a few supporters. We were even an initial grant recipient from 100 Women Who Care About Clay County and Clay Electric Co-op. Those grants helped us get started and we are proud to say that after that we were able to primarily self sustained through donations of vehicles and a portion of the sales revenue from the Repair Shop. We are also extremely grateful to have transferred more than 100 vehicles to those in need or our partner organizations, and completed over 1000 repairs at free or reduced cost. We know that we have honored our initial call!
That said, the time for the foundation has come to an end. Its a highly complex effort (which is why you just dont see it done.) So effectve 3/1/2-26 we will become inactive as a charitable organization. That doesnt mean Karla, Me, or Mike will stop doing good in our community and world. It will just be through different avenues.
Mercy Auto our Shop on Peoria Road remains open and one of the highest rated Auto Shops in the region (Thank you) also the affiliated Auto Dealership Simply Drive on Blanding Blvd is active as ever.
God is good all the time. Thank you Clay County and all of our partners !
