We believe every child deserves access to a school where they can discover their gifts, grow in confidence, and reach their full potential. Arete Scholars provides need-based K–12 scholarships and out-of-school enrichment through our Arete RISE program, which walks alongside students from kindergarten through career and opens doors for children in under-resourced communities across Georgia, Louisiana, and Alabama.

Every door we open starts with someone who chose to invest. Right now, a generous family foundation is matching every charitable gift dollar for dollar, making this one of the most impactful times to give.

Give today at aretescholars.org/donate and make twice the difference for a child who is ready and waiting.

Did a teacher change the direction of your life? Maybe they saw something in you before you saw it in yourself. Maybe they stayed after class, pushed you when you wanted to give up, or simply made you feel like you belonged.

We often hear from scholars about the teacher who saw something in them before they saw it in themselves. On World Teachers' Day, we celebrate every educator who shows up for their students every day.

Tell us in the comments about the teacher who changed your life.

We’re grateful to receive a Lagniappe Grant from The Shapiro Family Foundation at the 2nd Annual Nourish & Flourish event!

This generous support helps Arete continue creating meaningful opportunities for students and families in our community. We’re thankful to The Shapiro Foundation for investing in our scholars and helping us advance our mission of opening doors to opportunity.

A room full of conversation, encouragement, and big dreams made for a meaningful Arete Appreciation Day at Atlanta Youth Academy.

Our scholars spent time with business and community leaders, school leadership, and members of the Rotary community who came together to invest in their futures.

Through honest conversations and personal stories, students heard that no single path leads to success. Careers can change, plans can evolve, and unexpected opportunities can lead somewhere even better than imagined.

Most importantly, our scholars had the chance to share their own goals, ask questions, and see themselves in the stories of the people around them.

We’re thankful to everyone who joined us and helped create a day filled with connection, encouragement, and inspiration. Experiences like these remind us that sometimes, making a difference starts with simply showing up and taking the time to listen.

Arete scholars recently took part in our Gratitude Campaign, sharing what they're most thankful for about their schools and the opportunities their scholarships make possible. To celebrate their heartfelt words, our campaign winners enjoyed an unforgettable day at an Atlanta Braves game!

Thank you for helping us celebrate the people and opportunities that make our Arete community so special.

Our Arete Scholars had an incredible weekend at the Gleason Life Skills Sports Clinic at the New Orleans Pelicans Training Facility!

Students from five Arete partner schools joined students from across the community to learn about teamwork, encouragement, and caring for their mental and physical health, both on and off the court.

We’re proud of our scholars for showing up, getting involved, and making the most of this special experience!

Strong partnerships create more opportunities for students to thrive.

Beginning September 28, 13 Arete Scholars at Peace Prep will receive 15 hours of targeted literacy support through Studyville's High Dosage Tutoring. Students will participate in small-group tutoring during the school day, giving them additional support to build their literacy skills.

We’re grateful to Dr. Hall and the Peace Prep team for partnering with us, and to Xandy and the Studyville team for helping bring this opportunity directly to our scholars!

We love being able to open doors for scholars to attend St. Augustine High School!

One of our most frequently asked questions each admissions cycle is about scholarships and tuition assistance. We work with Son of a Saint, Arete Scholars, ACE Louisiana, Aspiring Scholars and Louisiana Gator to provide financial assistance to families. Most of these are need-based programs, and we suggest checking their websites to see when they begin accepting applications. We also highly advise that families complete their St. Augustine High School applications whether or not they've been approved for assistance, as seats are unavailable by the time families learn whether or not they've been approved for assistance.
