The North Bay Area Mardi Gras Association is excited to announce our 2027 Grand Marshal, Wendy Fayard.
Wendy has called the Mississippi Gulf Coast home her entire life. She and her husband, Johnny Fayard, have been married for 46 years and are blessed with two daughters, two sons-in-law, and four wonderful granddaughters, one grandson and three great-grandchildren.
Wendyβs journey of hard work, leadership, and commitment to excellence began at just 18 years old, when she and her husband founded their own seafood business, J & W Seafood. Together, they successfully operated the business for 24 years until Hurricane Katrina devastated their operation. She began working for the City of DβIberville in 2014, embarking on a new chapter dedicated to public service and community betterment.
Throughout her time with the City of DβIberville, Wendy has had the privilege of contributing to the cityβs vision of creating an engaging community that is beautiful, thriving, multicultural, safe, and inviting. Her dedication to this vision is reflected in her tireless efforts to help make DβIberville a wonderful place to live, work, and raise a family.
Beyond her work with the city, Wendy has remained actively involved in numerous community organizations, including the DβIbervilleβSt. Martin Chamber of Commerce, the Blessing of the Fleet Committee, where she served as Festival Chair, the St. Jude Fishing Tournament, the Salvation Army Advisory Board, the Keesler Honorary Commander Program, the Fleur de Lis Society and serve on the Mississippi Sound Estuary Program Civil Committee. Through these organizations, she has continued to give her time, energy, and leadership to causes that strengthen and enrich her community.
Wendyβs genuine love for the people of DβIberville shines through in everything she does. Whether working behind the scenes to ensure the success of a community event or lending a helping hand to a neighbor in need, she exemplifies the true meaning of service, generosity, and civic pride.
Wendyβs life is a testament to resilience, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to others. Through her years of business ownership, public service, and community involvement, she has made a lasting and meaningful impact on DβIberville and the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Her selfless spirit and steadfast devotion to her community make her an extraordinary example of what it means to serve with heart.
