Care for Education

Care for Education A non-political, non-profit organization, focused on community development through educational activities.

The current educational needs of conflict-affected areas of Sri Lanka have grasped our attention for a timely care. Different levels of education system in those areas, namely the primary, secondary, and tertiary educations require enormous support to build competent human resources and state-of-the-art infrastructure, and to provide quality education for students. We have been with all the stakeh

olders to identify the contemporary issues faced by the educational entities in those regions, support them to meet their needs, and uplift the overall educational system.

Every child deserves the opportunity to grow, learn, and thrive. 🌱
This presentation was conducted by the Divisional Secretary of the Puthukkudiyiruppu Divisional Secretariat, Mr. Vijayakumar Rajarathnam (SLAS I), highlighting the importance of strengthening early childhood nutrition and education support in the region.

This initiative supports underprivileged preschool children by providing them with healthy daily meals, ensuring they have the nutrition needed to develop properly and continue their education. For many children, a nutritious meal can make the difference between attending school and staying at home.

Through a government-supported initiative, each child receives a healthy meal for just LKR 100 per day, helping them stay focused, energized, and ready to learn.

Currently:
• 913 students from 38 preschools are already supported through government and nonprofit partnerships.
• However, 303 additional children from 7 preschools are still waiting for support.

To extend this program and ensure these children receive daily nutrition, $24,000 per year is needed.

With your support, we can ensure that no child goes to preschool hungry and every child gets the chance to grow healthy and continue their education.

You can support this initiative individually or through Care for Education. If you would like to contribute or learn more, feel free to contact us at [email protected]. 💙
