On September 24, the Dental Coalition for Conservation (DCC) joins the global community in recognizing World Gorilla Dayโcelebrating these extraordinary great apes and the people dedicated to ensuring their future.โฃ

Established in 2017, World Gorilla Day raises awareness of the challenges gorillas continue to face, including habitat loss, poaching, disease, and human-wildlife pressures.โฃ

For the DCC, this day carries special meaning.โฃ

Through our work, we have had the privilege of standing beside the veterinarians, veterinary technicians, anesthesiologists, caregivers, keepers, researchers, and conservation professionals entrusted with the health and welfare of these remarkably intelligent and sentient animals.โฃ

We have witnessed firsthand that conservation doesnโt happen only in forests or through population statistics.โฃ
