Eleven HHLOC volunteers assembled 50 "baby bundles" for the DeBakey VA Hospital's annual baby shower during our Saturday work day. In addition, volunteers sorted cut quilt squares and inventoried completed projects while visiting & enjoying some snacks. Thanks to all who sewed, crocheted, and organized to make our donation possible. #

HHLOC volunteers had a busy day Thursday matching sewn quilt tops and cutting backings, inventorying & tagging completed projects, and shelving some recent fabric donations. We also welcomed a new member who is interested in crocheting with the group. Thanks to all our volunteers who made it a very productive day.

At our next meeting, we will assemble baby bundles for the Veteran's Baby shower - delivery scheduled for August 26.

During our Saturday work day, eighteen HHLOC volunteers & their guests shared duties counting & organizing quilts, blankets, and hats while planning donations for the upcoming Veteran's Baby Shower and the Robert White Memorial Veteran's Appreciation Bags. We designated some quilts for delivery to the Ronald McDonald House. Additionally, HHLOC donated 66 pillowcases to New Direction Christian Church for their back to school backpacks. Thanks to YOU - our wonderful volunteers who make these donations happenđź’—.

HHLOC volunteers have pulled together to reach our goal of 40 quilts for the upcoming Veteran's Baby shower. Pictured are 3 of the 8 quilts just completed by Pattye M. These beauties will keep the little ones warm. If you have stroller blankets and/or hats for the babies, please ensure you bring them to our August 13 meeting as we plan to assemble our baby bundles at the August 22 meeting.

We were able to select some recipients for our hats and quilts, make additional plans for the female Veteran's shower and the Robert White Memorial Veteran's Appreciation Bags, cut backing & batting - all while enjoying each other's company. HHLOC has received information from the the planners of the annual baby shower for our female veterans. We have been asked to have all donations delivered no later than August 30, so please arrange to have any baby quilts, stroller blankets and hats, and burp cloths and bibs to us by our Thursday, August 13 meeting. And we can then assemble the baby bundles during our Saturday, August 22 meeting.
