Work on the meal plan purchases by doubling. For example, if you have one can of chili for dinner & you’re going to purchase 1 can - buy 2. Do this incrementally for the next few weeks until you have a backup “can” of non-perishables.

Begin incremental water purchases.

KNOW
Know the difference between “watch” & “warning”

At the “watch” phase we do one last check of our stuff & gas up cars, make sure battery packs are charged. WATCH news closely - at the beginning of warning make your decision to stay or go.

Starting today reverse shop your freezer. Look in your freezer BEFORE you hit the store. We need to clear up some space for bags of ice, milk if your family has to have it & at least one loaf of bread. Do this until you have cleared the space necessary.

If there is no way your freezer will be able to do this - it’s ok. You’ll just have to work on fridge space w/ an approaching storm AND make sure you have a decent-sized cooler on hand.

Create a Covid kit. Include: 2 masks per person & a bottle of hand sanitizer. If you have anti-bac hand wipes, include those. Put all of this in a ziplock. This ziplock should go in the personal tote.
If the masks aren’t sealed, put them in a separate ziplock then add them to the main bag. Otherwise they will smell like wipes/hand sanitizer.

Remember when we talked about meal planning? Time to get serious. Make a 4-day plan for meals - assuming you have no power. Include, breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks & comfort food. Write out your plan AND make a grocery list - remember to include your fuel source (propane, charcoal, etc.)
If you use propane - have an extra tank. Protip: Check with friends & neighbors before you buy new. They may have one you can exchange.

**Renters - you too should strongly consider renters insurance AND a flood policy. Plans are usually very affordable.

**Emergency Supplies Tax Free Weekend**

This weekend save yourself some $ - finish up those Emergency supply purchases we've talked about.

ALSO, you're gonna wrap up your video documentation. This will include: *kitchen* (open yr cabinets, get dishes, pots, pans) *Garage* (open yr tool boxes and capture any recreational equipment) *"Extra rooms"* like gamerooms, media rooms, spare rooms. *sheds* anything that may house lawn equipment & whatnot. *exterior of home* front & back.

For the remainder of our preparations we'll work on food & water supplies and preparation for the elderly, people with disabilities and special needs, and college students. Stay tuned.
