🧼 JUNE GIVING FOCUS: The Big Squeeze! 🧴💥

As we head into June, the Kiwanis Club of Cypress is launching "The Big Squeeze" toiletries drive! We are teaming up with Cy-Fair Helping Hands to completely stock their pantry shelves with essential hygiene items.

When families face food insecurity, everyday basics like shampoo, body wash, and toothpaste are often the hardest items to afford. We are collecting full-size toiletries to ensure their clients have plenty of product to squeeze, pump, and use—keeping our community clean, healthy, and cared for.

🛒 High-Demand Items Needed:

Family-size shampoo and conditioner

Body wash and bar soap

Toothpaste and toothbrushes

Deodorant

Lotion

May has been an incredibly impactful month for our club, filled with powerful community connections, student leadership, and a massive wave of support for local veterans and mental health initiatives! 🌼

🧠 Shining a Light on Mental Health
Our May meeting focused on mental health awareness. Thank you to our incredible visiting organizations for sharing your vital missions with us:

Engalla Hope Foundation (Providing housing & treatment scholarships for severe mental illness)

Hope Seed Support Center (Holistic family counseling & wellness programs)

Camp Hope (Interim housing & peer support for combat veterans with PTSD)

🎓 Next-Gen Leadership in Action
We were honored to host newly elected Key Club members from Cypress Creek High School and Cypress Falls High School! These outstanding student leaders even brought in extra donations to add to our collection efforts. The future of service in Cypress is bright! 🌟

🎖️ Making a Difference for Camp Hope
Camp Hope received a massive boost this month!

Our club proudly donated $500 in breakfast products to support their residents.

Many of our members joined Chris Plummer on Saturday, May 16 at the Cypress VFW for his annual crawfish boil, which raised a record-breaking $23,000 for Camp Hope! 🦞🎉 Thank you, Chris, and everyone who came out to peel, eat, and give back.

🛏️ Boots-on-the-Ground Service
Shout-out to the Avant family for volunteering with Sleep in Heavenly Peace this month, taking part in hands-on service to ensure local kids have a safe place to sleep! Thank you for representing Kiwanis so beautifully.

As Teacher Appreciation Week begins, the Kiwanis Club of Cypress wants to send a huge thank you to the incredible teachers who dedicate their lives to our community’s students.

Whether you are in the classroom, on the sidelines coaching, or guiding students toward their future careers, your impact goes far beyond the school day. You are mentors, advocates, and the ultimate "boots-on-the-ground" heroes helping to shape the next generation of leaders.

We see the heart you put into everything you do, and we are so proud to support our local schools and Key Clubs alongside such dedicated professionals.

Cereal-ly, we need your help! 🥣☕️

A stable morning routine is the first step toward a clear mind. This May, we’re sounding the alarm clock on mental health by stocking the pantry at Camp Hope. We’re collecting cereal, creamer and some other breakfast staples to ensure the 120 veterans in residence have "Better Mornings Ahead" as they focus on their 7-9 month healing journey.
