Cypress Kiwanis

09/23/2026

Gobble gobble! 🦃 It’s almost time for our next Kiwanis Club of Cypress meeting!

Join us on Thursday, October 8th at 6:30 PM at Spring Creek Barbeque as we gather for a busy, impactful evening.

This month, we’re collecting turkey gravy mix packets to support Cy-Fair Helping Hands with their upcoming holiday distribution baskets! Bring as many packets as you can—every single one helps make a local family's holiday meal a little extra special. 🥣✨

We'll also be holding our annual officer elections, welcoming student leaders from the Jersey Village High School Key Club, and hearing from the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center.

Bring a friend, bring some gravy packets, and let’s make a difference together! See you there! 🙌💙

Investing in our future, one student and teacher at a time! 💙✨

The Kiwanis Club of Cypress, Texas is proud to kick off the new school year by giving back to our incredible community with two very special moments:

🍎 Supporting Our Hancock Elementary Teachers
Following last spring’s fire, we know how hard Hancock's incredible educators are working to rebuild, refresh, and prepare their classrooms. Kiwanis of Cypress was honored to present a $600 donation directly to Hancock Elementary teachers to help them start this school year off strong! ✏️📚

🎓 Celebrating Academic Excellence
Huge congratulations to Rice University student Sarah Nguyen, a proud recipient of our $1,000 Kiwanis Scholarship! We are so inspired by your hard work and can’t wait to see all the amazing things you achieve at Rice and beyond. Owls up! 🦉

Snack to School! 🦅🍎

Our July Giving Challenge is officially live! This month, the Kiwanis Club of Cypress is stepping up to support the incredible teachers at Hancock Elementary (CFISD) as they prepare for the new school year.

Following a small campus fire that cut last school year short and forced a rushed move-out, these educators have an extra layer of organizing and restocking ahead of them. Let’s show them some major community love and ensure they have a fantastic, stress-free fresh start!

🧼 JUNE GIVING FOCUS: The Big Squeeze! 🧴💥

As we head into June, the Kiwanis Club of Cypress is launching "The Big Squeeze" toiletries drive! We are teaming up with Cy-Fair Helping Hands to completely stock their pantry shelves with essential hygiene items.

When families face food insecurity, everyday basics like shampoo, body wash, and toothpaste are often the hardest items to afford. We are collecting full-size toiletries to ensure their clients have plenty of product to squeeze, pump, and use—keeping our community clean, healthy, and cared for.

🛒 High-Demand Items Needed:

Family-size shampoo and conditioner

Body wash and bar soap

Toothpaste and toothbrushes

Deodorant

Lotion

May has been an incredibly impactful month for our club, filled with powerful community connections, student leadership, and a massive wave of support for local veterans and mental health initiatives! 🌼

🧠 Shining a Light on Mental Health
Our May meeting focused on mental health awareness. Thank you to our incredible visiting organizations for sharing your vital missions with us:

🎓 Next-Gen Leadership in Action
We were honored to host newly elected Key Club members from Cypress Creek High School and Cypress Falls High School! These outstanding student leaders even brought in extra donations to add to our collection efforts. The future of service in Cypress is bright! 🌟

🎖️ Making a Difference for Camp Hope
Camp Hope received a massive boost this month!

Our club proudly donated $500 in breakfast products to support their residents.

Many of our members joined Chris Plummer on Saturday, May 16 at the Cypress VFW for his annual crawfish boil, which raised a record-breaking $23,000 for Camp Hope! 🦞🎉 Thank you, Chris, and everyone who came out to peel, eat, and give back.

🛏️ Boots-on-the-Ground Service
Shout-out to the Avant family for volunteering with Sleep in Heavenly Peace this month, taking part in hands-on service to ensure local kids have a safe place to sleep! Thank you for representing Kiwanis so beautifully.
