Good morning.
Today is a heavy day for many of us — a day to honor the men and women who gave their lives for this country. Their sacrifice is the reason we wake up free, raise our families free, and live under a flag that still stands tall.
And I believe this, that those who never made it home would want us to live the very life they fought to protect.
So take a moment to reflect, to remember, to feel that gratitude… and then go enjoy your family, your freedom, and this country they loved enough to die for because that’s not disrespectful,
THAT is honoring their legacy.

Many, many thanks to the Rotary Club of Cypress Fairbanks for the amazing fundraiser that they put on for us raising $12,000 to help a local & very decorated combat
Veteran and first responder, Mike Teasdale, after his horrific motorcycle accident. The money went to building him a roll in shower, wheelchair accessible cabinets, & widening doors in his home.
Creating this type of independence is a critical part of overall recovery for our warriors.
Without great organizations like the rotary of Cypress Fairbanks, none of this could happen, so deeply grateful to this groups efforts, this is the second one in two years they’ve had for us, as we GTH truly try to make a difference, one life at a time.

Thanks to those who came out last night to support our , GTH
annual Bourbon & Brisket event, it was epic. We got to enjoy good people, good friends, good bourbon, and great barbecue from , Cypress Texas and amazing craft brew from , Waller, Texas.
We were able to open up a college account for Ayla Ontiveros, the daughter of a fallen Marine & personal friend, of mine, Samual Ontiveros.
We were also able to commit to our next call to action project, local Veteran, Firefighter paramedic, Mike Teasdale who has been at the VA hospital for going on nine months after a catastrophic motorcycle accident on Highway 99 outside of Houston, Texas. More to come on that.

All proceeds from this event will go towards helping a local paramedic/firefighter and VERY decorated Army & Marine veteran, Michael Teasdale after a tragic motorcycle accident which left him severely paralyzed. 
He has spent his entire life serving others, let’s get together and serve him with an amazing Home Improvement project to make his life easier at home now.

It’s hard to find the words to explain how much this little guy meant to me, and our family and our extended family who supports our foundation.
Jack Hammer, our BEAUTIFUL Studley, English bulldog, COMPANY MASCOT & prized member of the Smith household passed away today after a lifelong battle with an inherited auto immune disease.

With a special low-fat diet, and steroids we managed to keep this disease at bay for almost 8 years, his life expectancy was 5 to 7 years so our tough little man did good. 

In his short life, he did a ton of living, traveled coast to coast with me and helped us raise thousands of dollars for our foundation.
He had several beers named after him in micro breweries around the country as well as a Moonshine that’s currently being sold in all 50 states named Hammershine, his picture is on the back of the bottle. 
Some states he visited outside of Texas are New Mexico, Arizona, (Tombstone & Grand Canyon) California, Nevada, (Las Vegas) Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, & Tennessee.
