A little more magic left the world today!

Today, Girl Scouts everywhere are saying goodbye to one of our own, Dolly Parton. She understood something we know so well in Girl Scouting: that when a girl is encouraged to dream, given the confidence to try, and surrounded by people who believe in her, she can change the world. Dolly spent her life doing exactly that. She lifted others up, opened doors, gave back, and reminded us that you can be wonderfully yourself while making a difference in the lives of others.

In 2007, she became a Girl Scout Lifetime Member, receiving her very own sash and badges. The Coat of Many Colors Patch was also developed here at Girl Scouts of Southern Appalachians and thousands of girls across the globe have participated and earned it.

Once a Girl Scout, always a Girl Scout! 💚

Troop 2566 visited the animal shelter and donated cardboard cat scratchers made from cookie cases, seek&find mats for enrichment, and some treats. They got to play with the cats and kittens then took Chuck out for a walk.

The end of an era! Dani Franklin , Amelia Beam, & Layla Vance had their final Girl Scout Bringing Ceremony tonight. These girls have been together for many years and now each are following their dreams as they graduate from HCHS this year. We wish them the best of luck!! A huge thank you to Beth Stroub Tucker for everything she’s done for these girls. She’s had every roll possible but ended as their Troop Leader.
