It's officially the start of a new school year, and that means our annual CFSFAA Staff Membership Contest is back! 🎉

Here we are on Convocation Day kicking things off (pictured: Kathy Taylor-Moffet, President; Karen Schofield, Vice-President; Mark Bowers, Executive Director). The building with the highest percentage of new and renewing members wins the coveted trophy, Baby Spike, a tray of sweet treats, and bragging rights for the year!

But the real win? 96% of membership dollars go directly toward scholarships for our graduating seniors and classroom grants for our staff.

We're thrilled to share an update from one of our Isabel Corbus Memorial Teacher Grant recipients! Thanks to a $1,500 grant for her project "For A Wheel-y Big Opportunity: Shaping Student Resilience one Pot at a Time," Jennifer Schulman, an art teacher at Cuyahoga Falls High School, completed the Queen City Clay workshop and purchased new pottery equipment for her Cuyahoga Falls art classroom.

In her words: "This support has been instrumental in the arts programming I've been able to provide for our students... Our students will be thrilled to use the new equipment I was able to acquire, and I benefited from the learning I received through this workshop and the community of artists and teachers I met through this experience."

Grants like this are made possible by our generous donors — thank you for investing in Cuyahoga Falls City Schools students and the arts! 🐯🏺

A big thanks to our amazing CFSFAA community!

At our recent Trustees meeting, we collected over 500 pairs of socks and underwear for the Black Tiger Family Center!

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who donated, as well as those who helped coordinate drop-off locations and transportation — your generosity and support made this drive a success! This kind of community effort is what makes CFSFAA so special. 💛

🐯 Memorabilia Community Giveaway 🐯

We kindly request that you read this information in its entirety before posting any questions in the comments.

Over the past year, the district has been collecting memorabilia from the former high school and middle schools. As part of the district's ongoing effort to preserve and honor our history, a committee carefully reviewed memorabilia and archival materials that could be removed from those buildings.

The committee identified representative pieces that will be displayed at the new 6–12 Campus, included in the future museum at the Preston Learning Center, and contacted the Cuyahoga Falls Historical Society. While every effort was made to preserve the history of our schools, the available display and storage space at these locations is limited, making it impossible to retain every item. After those selections were made, the remaining duplicate, surplus, and miscellaneous items will be made available to the community at no cost. Because many of these items cannot legally be sold by the district, we felt it was more meaningful to offer them to students, alumni, families, and community members who will appreciate and preserve them.

Available items may include old trophies, plaques, extra yearbooks from previous years, a limited number of sports banners, athletic record books, old instrumental and choral sheet music, and other miscellaneous memorabilia.

Giveaway Details:
• Tuesday, July 28 | 4:00–6:00 p.m.
• Thursday, July 30 | 9:00–11:00 a.m. (or until all items are gone)
• Location: First floor of the former Board of Education office, 431 Stow Ave.
• Enter through the "Band Doors" on Stow Ave.

Important Information:
• Items are available first come, first served.
• No holds will be placed on items.
• The building will not be open for tours, and access to the building will be limited to the former Board of Education office.
• Restrooms will not be available during giveaway hours.

We recognize that these items represent memories, accomplishments, and important moments in the lives of many students, families, staff members, and alumni. Our hope is that this opportunity allows additional pieces of Cuyahoga Falls history to be preserved and appreciated by those who value them most.
