AN IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT FROM THE CUTTYHUNK YACHT CLUB

As with many organizations today, cost-cutting has come to Cuttyhunk Yacht Club. While this was not an easy decision, we want to assure you that the education and safety of your young sailors remains our highest priority. That’s why, rather than hiring instructors this summer, we will be embracing Artificial Intelligence to help reduce overhead.

It’s a bold new chapter in the history of our sailing program.

Effective this summer, C*C will be replacing its instructor staff with Admiral AI — our state-of-the-art artificial intelligence sailing system. Admiral AI has processed over 4.7 million hours of sailing footage and can recite the Racing Rules of Sailing in 47 languages.

AI Units will be deployed aboard each vessel in the fleet. Of course, in the unlikely event of a capsize, all recovery will be handled autonomously — we ask only that your child remain calm and allow the process to complete. Of course, the AI crash boat will be on-scene to help out.

Our course, with your child’s safety in mind, AI will then log the incident and a formal report will be filed within 3-5 business days.

Rest assured, a Commodore will also be on the premises! This is our human-in-the-loop. Though this position will be held by a remote worker operating on UTC+6, six hours ahead of Eastern Time.

We look forward to a safe, efficient, and deeply algorithmic summer on the water!
