Don’t stress! The Jr Panthers are having their final open gym of the season tonight

Grades K-3 will be hooping it up in the Auxiliary gym from 6:00-7:00 while at the same time Grades 4-8 will be working on their skills in Thomas gym

Come out and have some fun out of the weather

Calling all Jr Panthers! The Pinckneyville Panther Basketball Camps for Boys and Girls in grades 1-8 (for upcoming year) will be held later this month. Attached are the flyers with the infomation for the 2 camps:
Grades 1-3: May 26 & 27
Grades 4-8: May 26-28

Hey Jr Panthers! If you aren't here you are missing out!!

Rain or Shine, the Jr Panthers Open Gym on Wednesdays @ 6:00 are rocking. We had over 40 future stars hooping it up and working on their game this week.

From K thru 8th grade, we have something for you. Whether its pickup games and knockout in Thomas gym to dribble relays and supervised 5 on 5 games in the Auxiliary gym, we are having a blast.

And remember, Cost is ...... FREE

Only 2 weeks left but there is still time to come out and have a great time and making yourself into a future Panther.

Reminder. Open gyms are @ 6:00 each Wednesday thru May 20
Auxiliary Gym: K-3
Thomas Gym: 4-8

Jr Panthers Open Gym Scheduling Change

We will be making a slight change to our Wednesday gym times going forward.

Auxiliary Gym will have Grades K-3 @ 6:00 pm
Thomas Gym will have Grades 4-8 @ 6:00 pm

We have been averaging 25-30 future at our Open Gyms so far this season!! Please make sure to tell your friends and continue to work on your basketball skills this offseason

We hosted our first Open Gym of the Spring season on Wednesday and had a great turnout of future Panthers! 35 ballers showed up and had a great time playing pickup games, knockout, or just shooting around.

Open Gym program will continue every Wednesday thru May 20:

Aux Gym:
6:00-7:00 K-1st grade
7:00-8:00 2nd-3rd graders

Thomas Gym
6:00-7:00 4th-6th graders
7:00-8:00 7th-8th graders

Great opportunity for your kids to get back on the hardwood and remember that cost for this program is FREE!!

The PCHS Lady Panthers Basketball Team will be hosting a Basketball Camp for all incoming girls in grades 4-8. Camp will take place at Thomas Gym on June 2-4 from 1:00-3:00 PM.

This is a great opportunity for our future stars to get great instruction on improving their skills as well as an opportunity to meet some of our current Lady Panther Basketball team. Please use the QR code to sign up online. We will also have an application you can use as well to get signed up.

REMINDER!! Mark your calendars for Wednesday of this week!!!

2026 Jr Panther Open Gym Dates

Its time for our future Panthers to get back into the gyms for 2026!

The Jr Panther Basketball Club will be coordinating Open Gyms for all students in grades K-8. Every Wednesday, starting April 15 and running thru May 20, we will be having open gym time at PCHS (both Auxiliary and Thomas) for all students that want to participate.

We will have basketballs available and adult "gym monitors" onsite to allow the kids to be able to play/shoot/enjoy. This is an open gym concept, and it is FREE...... we will not be providing instructions or running drills per se but instead will allow the kids to play and work on their games (younger age groups will get help as needed).

Gym time/locations will be broken out by class grade, similar to how we conduct our leagues in the Fall.

Wednesdays (April 15-May 20)
Aux Gym: 6:00-7:00 K-1
Aux Gym: 7:00-8:00 Grades 2-3

Thomas Gym: 6:00-7:00 Grades 4-6
Thomas Gym: 7:00-8:00 Grades 7-8

Cost is FREE.

Needless to say is that this is a new opportunity that we are doing to gauge interest. We are aware that there are competing sports going on at this time so have tried to avoid scheduling conflicts as much as possible (but that is an impossible task.....).

We WILL ask the following from all who want to participate:
- Respect the time periods set forth by grade
- Be courteous to others......horseplay will not be tolerated
- Leave the gym better than you found it (no litter, etc)

We are hoping this concept is well received and we can expand it for future time periods.

We will be publishing Panther Summer Basketball Camps dates and times in the coming days. Stay tuned!!

Fall/Winter leagues are also being drawn up and info on those events will also be posted in the near future.

Final Jr Panther Event was held on December 20 and all players had a chance to hoop it up one final time this season. Each player received a mini "Jr Panther basketball" and were eligible to get drawn for an Air Jordan/Panther Blue backpack. We also recognized those who performed at the Varsity game earlier.

We hope everyone enjoyed the season. We want to thank all of the Coaches and Varsity Panthers who graciously donated their time to assist in teaching our future Panthers on the game.

Final Jr Panther Event of the Season: December 20

Calling ALL Jr Panthers!! This Saturday is the final event of the season and we have lots of prizes/giveaways for all who attend.

ALL Jr Panthers will receive a Jr Panthers Mini Basketball for their participation this season

Also
Each age group will have drawings to give away
4 Air Jordan (Panther Blue) backpacks
(MUST BE PRESENT TO WIN)

Finally, we will have tee shirts for the Top 4 Finishers in each of the skills competitions from last Friday night.

Come out for 1 last time to compete and show off your basketball skills.

Also, make sure to thank each of your coaches for their support this season. They made it happen for all of us and we appreciate their dedication and effort.

Finally, don't forget to support our Varsity Boys and Girls Basketball teams!

Our Lady Panthers are currently 10-0 and are having a fantastic season...........come out and watch them perform.

Our Boys Panther team is having another successful season as well. Be sure to come out to the Duster Thomas Holiday Tournament (December 27, 29, 30) and support them in their quest to win another holiday classic.
