Kobi Simoneaux Memorial Foundation

Kobi Simoneaux Memorial Foundation The Kobi Simoneaux Memorial Foundation will provide scholarship opportunities to South Lafourche High School students in Kobi Simoneaux's memory.

KSMF will also provide grant resources to different areas of the SL community for specific needs. Kobi Simoneaux is the son of Mark & Consuelo Simoneaux. He passed away in a single car accident on May 28, 2020 at the age of 18, just 1 week before his 19th birthday. Kobi was the boy who helped everyone. He was always helping family, friends, and the community. Kobi was to be hired full-time into th

e fire department on his birthday. Sadly, his dream did not come to fruition before his passing. His parents and family would like to keep his memory alive by providing scholarships to South Lafourche High School students and grants to the South Lafourche area. We want to help as he did. Kobi's siblings include Shaney St.Pierre McMellon, Jamey Simoneaux, Gregory Simoneaux, and Chelsea Crosby. Thank you all for being part of keeping Kobi's memory alive. Board members:
President--Consuelo Simoneaux
Vice-President--Mark Simoneaux
Treasurer--Beth Smith
Secretary--Elisabeth St.Pierre
At-Large--Teresa Simoneaux
At-Large--Willie St.Pierre

6 years today God took Kobi Simoneaux home. 6 years of missing him immensely. I pray that no other parent ever has to lose a child, no matter how, no matter the age, no matter the circumstances.

The video below is a great showing of the things Kobi did in life. Even if you get to watch just a small part of it, I hope you can see it was all about him having fun!

What an overwhelming night it was last night, but so amazing!
When I tell you we live in the best community in the world, I do not lie! If you could see the amazing kids receiving scholarships from amazing organizations on this bayou, mostly funded by the people of this area, you would be in shock!!
Last night, I wanted to quickly recognize our recipients. I needed time to process and wanted to make a short video for all to see how amazing these kids are! Take some time to pause and read our speech from last night. Our board members, Mark Simoneaux, Beth Smith, Elisabeth Richard St Pierre, and Willie St Pierre carefully read each application and come to a conclusion. I usually recuse myself from the votes, because I know most of these kids and could never pick just one!
The video below explains a little about Kobi, our foundation, and our scholarship application. We want to know the kids at their heart!
Congratulations to:
Mayrin Castillo -- College Scholarship
Claire Rebstock -- College Scholarship
Ozzy Delatte -- Transition to Work Scholarship
Joshua Guidry -- LPFD #3 Firefighter Legacy Scholarship
Landin Dardar -- College Scholarship
We hope to see you all for our 2026 KSMF Cook-off and Craft Show on November 7, 2026 at the Cut Off Youth Center. Come dressed in your favorite footballs teams attire as we listen to great music while enjoying football on the TV's! Can't wait to watch some of locals, and one of our recipients, playing at the next level

Congratulations to Mayrin Castillo, Ozzy Delatte, Joshua Guidry, Landin Dardar, & Claire Rebstock.

We are so blessed to be able to give scholarships to those going to College, going to work, and an LPFD #3 Legacy Scholarship.

In total 49 Organizations gave out scholarships tonight at South Lafourche High School! We gave out 5! Some gave out 1. One gave out 8! This is absolutely amazing!!!

I'll put up a video tomorrow. We are overwhelmed tonight by the outpouring of love and support in this community!

The hardest part of the year for our foundation is upon us, picking scholarship winners! As a board, we read each and every application and make decisions based on different things. We usually come up with the same kids. But, seeing the amazing kids of this community and all they do and accomplish is absolutely eye opening!!

We don't ask for GPA, or academic status, but we ask different kinds of questions while trying to get to know these seniors on a personal level. We ask "What is your favorite home-cooked meal and who cooks it the best?" "What was your favorite childhood cartoon?" And most importantly "Do you know any Cajun French, and is it only the cuss words?"

These are some of our favorite questions that helps us to know who you are as a person, not just as a student.

We have 40 amazing applicants this year! Good luck to them all!

Today was Opening Ceramonies for South Lafourche Youth Baseball in Larose! What a beautiful morning! Thank you to the Board of Directors for honoring Kobi and his dedication to the league year after year. It was great watching Parish President Mitch Orgeron throw out the first pitch! Thank you for always making an effort to be present!

Have a great season to all playing baseball this year!
