I want to say a HUGE "THANK YOU" to all the people who donated Food at the Moyock Food Lion today and to Food Lion for allowing our scouts to "Scout for Food" at their establishment.

All donations will be brought to Pilmoor Memorial UMC's food pantry to help support families in our area who suffer from food instability.

Moyock may be a "small town" but it has a "Big Heart" when it comes to supporting their neighbors.

Thanks for amazing my scouts with your incredible generosity.

Super Proud of this Young Man, Buddy Cooper. He is a current Life Scout with Troop 182 and braved the cold today to work on his Eagle Scout Project.

Buddy is constructing a sidewalk to the Flag pole and adding parking curbs in the teachers parking lot at J.P. Knapp Early College High School in Currituck, NC

Today was day 1 of his project and he had volunteers come out to help dig out and place the wood forms for the cement that will be poured on Monday.

Keep up the great work, Buddy and before long you will achieve your Eagle Rank!

One day, while you're in a noisy elementary school hallway, a person in a tan shirt behind a folding table is going to try to get your child to join Scouts.

It's very important you say "Yes!"

That'll be me. I am that person and I said "Yes" once too.

So proud of our local Scouts. They came together on a cold and blustery Veteran's Day to participate in Joshua Deem's Eagle Project.

Josh's project included raising and painting the parking curbs at Pilmoor Memorial United Methodist Church and replacing the worn out handicap parking signs. We had scouts from Troop 182 and Troop 127 working together side by side while an American Bald Eagle watched from atop a nearby tree.

Life Scout, Matthew Vahle completed his Eagle Scout Project this evening.

Matthew took a retired blue postal collection box and gave it a new purpose by transforming it into an American Flag Retirement Box.

During the project, Matt learned how to develop a plan, ask for help and donations, prepare a budget, remove old paint, prime, sand and reapply new paint, mix and form concrete and how to be a leader.

Matt has dedicated his project to the U.S. Military Veterans and to the residents of Currituck County.

If you have an American Flag that is no longer fit to fly, please bring it to Crawford Fire Station #4 on Shawboro Rd to deposit so it can be respectfully retired.
