Love Your Eyes ❤️

Nolberta's story in her own words is a powerful reminder of how vision care, education, and community support can help families overcome challenges and pursue their dreams. At AINAK, we are honored to stand alongside families like hers, providing hope, opportunity, and the tools to build a brighter future.

In the photo below are Nolberta and her 2 kids in AINAK eyeglasses. The smile on her little girl’s face as she wears her new AINAK eyeglasses reminds us why our work matters. Every pair of glasses we provide is more than vision correction, it is confidence, opportunity, and hope for a brighter future.

On May 31, 2026, AINAK, under the leadership of Deepti Varshney, participated in the vibrant Choki Dhani cultural event at the India Community Center in Milpitas. The celebration showcased the rich traditions and colorful heritage of Rajasthan the home state of AINAK founding team members Poonam, Ashima, Atisha, and Anjalika.

The AINAK booth drew strong interest as attendees learned about its mission of providing free vision screenings and eyeglasses to underserved communities in California and New Jersey. The initiative resonated deeply with visitors, many of whom stopped to appreciate the impact and importance of accessible eye care.

Among the distinguished guests who visited and engaged with AINAK’s mission were U.S. Representative Ro Khanna, Fremont Mayor Raj Salwan, Indian entrepreneur in Silicon Valley Ajay Bhutoria, radio personality Namrita Yuhanna, who has been a strong advocate for the organization’s mission, also engaged with the AINAK team.

A Note from a Santa Rita School District Nurse, Salinas, CA:

Vision Support Request

AINAK,

We are currently supporting a student at La Joya Elementary School in Salinas who is experiencing vision challenges and is unable to access Medi-Cal benefits until next year. In the meantime, the family urgently needs assistance to help him obtain eyeglasses. The student’s vision difficulties have been affecting both academic progress and overall well-being. Timely support can make a meaningful difference in helping him succeed in school.

Many families within the Santa Rita School District community face significant economic hardship, where even essential healthcare services such as vision care can be difficult to access. These challenges can have a direct impact on a child’s ability to learn, participate, and thrive in the classroom.

Note of Gratitude to AINAK

We are deeply grateful for the support provided to this student. With new eyeglasses, he is now able to see the board clearly, participate more confidently in class, and experience a noticeable improvement in both learning and happiness.

Thank you for your continued compassion and partnership in helping our students access clear vision and a brighter future.

At AINAK, we have witnessed how profoundly life-changing clear vision can be. Students feel seen, supported, and empowered to fully engage in their education. Clear vision helps a child pursue their dreams and reach for the stars, vision should never be a barrier.

AINAK New Jersey volunteers gathered for their first in-person meeting of 2026 on May 16, 2026 at Ruby Ka Kitchen in Edison, New Jersey, hosted by Ashima. The gathering beautifully reflected Ashima’s rich Rajasthani heritage through authentic cuisine, warm hospitality, and the traditions of love and togetherness that define the culture. Ruby and Sanjay Nigam graciously welcomed the group, helping create a memorable and enjoyable experience for everyone.

The meeting brought together passionate volunteers from across New Jersey to reflect on their 2026 contributions, discuss AINAK’s mission, and explore ways to expand the organization’s growing impact within the community. Volunteers shared encouraging feedback from schools and community partners who deeply appreciate the unique and much-needed vision care services that AINAK provides to underserved children and families.

The group also engaged in meaningful discussions on increasing awareness of AINAK’s work, strengthening fundraising efforts, and connecting with organizations that support nonprofits making a difference at the grassroots level.

Adding a fun and educational element to the afternoon, A***n, one of AINAK’s dedicated high school volunteers, organized an interactive eye anatomy puzzle challenge. Volunteers enthusiastically worked together to identify and place the different parts of the eye, making learning both engaging and enjoyable for everyone.

AINAK continues to grow because of the dedication, compassion, and selfless service of its volunteers. Together, we are helping children see clearly, succeed in school, and dream beyond limitations.

If you believe every child deserves the gift of clear vision and equal opportunity, we warmly invite you to become part of the AINAK family. Whether you volunteer your time, partner with us, sponsor a child’s vision care, or simply help spread awareness, your support can make a life-changing difference for children and families in need.

San and I were honored to attend the AAPI Heritage Month celebration at the invitation of the Office of Councilmember Bien Doan, District 7, at San Jose City Hall. The City Hall features striking modern architecture with its iconic glass rotunda and open civic design, symbolizing transparency, innovation, and the diverse spirit of Silicon Valley.

We thank Councilmember Bien Doan, Councilwoman Rosemary Kamei, and Councilmember Anthony Tordillos for organizing a welcoming gathering. The afternoon featured inspiring speeches, cultural performances, and recognition awards presented to organizations serving the community.

One of the highlights of the event was the stunning performance by the Korean dance group. Korean culture holds a special place in my heart, as my nephews wife is of Korean heritage, making the performance especially meaningful to me personally.

It was good to hear Councilmember Bien Doan welcome each community with their traditional salutation, including a warm “Namaste” for the Indian community, reflecting the spirit of inclusion, respect, and cultural appreciation that made the event so special.

It was a delight to meet the talented young artist Alliana Lili Yang, a 15-year-old classically trained vocalist, actor, and dancer based in the Bay Area. She is known for her stage presence, technical skill, emotional expression, natural talent, and unique artistic voice.

Events like these remind us of the beauty and strength that come from celebrating our diverse cultures and communities together, and this is what makes the United States of America so strong.

Community Wellness Fair in Rockaway, New Jersey

AINAK New Jersey believes that clear vision changes lives. When children and families can see clearly, they can learn better, work confidently, remain independent, and dream bigger. Yet many underserved families continue to live with untreated vision problems simply because they cannot afford care, this is where AINAK fills in the gap by providing free eye exams and prescription eyeglasses.
On May 7, 2026, AINAK was invited to participate in the Community Wellness Fair hosted by Rockaway Township SEPAC and Rutgers Behavioral Health at Copeland Middle School in Rockaway, New Jersey. Rockaway Township SEPAC supports children with special needs and their families through advocacy, education, and community collaboration, while Rutgers Behavioral Health is dedicated to improving mental health and wellness services for individuals and families across New Jersey.
AINAK volunteers Sarita Puri and Bharati Bhuta proudly represented our organization and shared information about the importance of accessible vision care for all.
We sincerely thank Jeannine Burzynski and Rockaway Township for inviting AINAK to be part of this outstanding event. The wellness fair was well organized and brought together more than 35 vendors dedicated to supporting the health and well-being of local families.
Throughout the event, many community members visited the AINAK booth to learn more about our mission of providing free vision care services, including eye exams, vision screenings, and corrective eyeglasses, to underserved school children and communities in need.
We were also honored to welcome Superintendent of Schools Dr. Richard Corbett and Director of Student Services Kathryn Pietrowski from Rockaway Township Public Schools to the AINAK booth. They expressed enthusiasm for our work and generously offered to share information about AINAK throughout their district and neighboring school communities.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this event such a meaningful success. Together, we are helping children see clearly, succeed in school, and pursue their dreams without vision becoming a barrier.

Love your Eyes ❤️
This Mother’s Day, we celebrate the incredible mothers of AINAK who volunteer with love, compassion, and endless dedication to bring vision care to students in need.
From California to New Jersey, these selfless women give their time, energy, and smiles to help children see clearly, succeed in school, and dream beyond their circumstances. They believe education is one of the most powerful pathways out of poverty, and that every child deserves the chance to dream of reaching the stars without vision being a barrier.
Recently, California volunteers came together to celebrate National Volunteer Week during a meaningful lunch gathering at Chat Bhavan in Mountain View. The conversation centered around AINAK and its mission, including discussions on expanding vision care services into all California and New Jersey Counties, bringing the gift of clear sight to even more children in underserved communities.
Whether organizing programs, supporting families, helping at screenings, or finding new ways to serve communities in need, AINAK mothers lead with kindness, hope, and heart. Their compassion is changing lives: one child, one family, and one community at a time.

Love Your Eyes ❤️
Here’s to the mothers wearing AINAK eyeglasses and seeing the world a little more clearly this Mother’s Day.
Last Thursday, thanks to a generous grant from Ability Central, AINAK transformed a small room at the LifeSteps Apartments in Santa Clara into a makeshift vision clinic and dark room for our Mass Vision Screening for Low Income Housing Project.
It was heartwarming to see generations together elderly mothers, daughters, granddaughters and children as young as 4 years old receiving vision screenings through AINAK’s Prevention of Blindness Program.
Families from the United States, Colombia, Mexico, and Egypt and other nations shared stories about their lives, families, and journeys. One touching moment was when a grandmother who spoke very little English helped translate for a Spanish-speaking couple so they could receive their screenings. Between English, Spanish, and Hindi, we found a way to connect.
We are deeply grateful to Cassandra Aguilar, Director of Social Services, South Bay Region, for her kindness and support, and proud of Sunita for screening residents with compassion and care.
This grant from Ability Central was more than vision screenings it was about dignity, connection, and reminding every person that they matter.
At AINAK, we believe vision should never be a barrier to hope, dignity, or opportunity.

Love your Eyes ❤️

Cinco de Mayo celebrates Mexican heritage: its traditions, food, music, and strong sense of community. This year, we also celebrate something just as powerful: the gift of clear vision for every child.

Meet Angel, a bright 9-year-old from Los Banos. During a routine screening, he was referred for a comprehensive eye exam at a local partner Optometry, where he was diagnosed with strabismus, a condition in which the eyes do not align properly and may point in different directions.

In children, strabismus can affect depth perception, learning, and confidence. If left untreated, the brain may begin to ignore input from one eye, leading to long-term vision loss.

The good news, early detection changes everything.

With timely care, Angel received specialized prescription eyeglasses, including progressive lenses that help him see clearly at different distances while supporting proper eye alignment as he grows. These lenses help train his eyes to work together, improving both vision and coordination.

Thanks to AINAK’s free vision program, Angel received the care he needed, at no cost to his family.

Because of the support from AINAK donor:

• Angel can now see clearly in the classroom

• His eyes are working together more effectively

• He is gaining confidence and thriving every day

At AINAK, we believe no child should struggle to learn simply because they cannot see. We are helping children like Angel dream big, and see a brighter future.

In the photo below: From so many choices, Angel happily picked the frames he loved most!
