The Hwarang Silicon Valley Media Committee serves primarily to inform the general community about Hwarang’s activities, and also plays a role in keeping the whole of Hwarang connected. Committee members write formal articles about the Hwarang activities and volunteering works that they were involved in. These articles are then posted on the committee’s official Facebook and Instagram pages and are
also sometimes picked up by local newspapers. Although most communication is done online, the media committee does hold several of its own physical meetings. Due to the nature of the committee, all members are required to be engaged and informed about what goes on in their chapters or in other committees that they participate in. The committee was launched on March 10, 2019. In the last year, we set up our social media pages and worked on expanding their influence. This year, our goals are to continue to expand in social media, to gain new members, and to provide even more students with the opportunity to try their hands at journalism.
