Currahee Memorial Day Message and 2026 Rendezvous Thanks
Good Day - Currahee’s,
On behalf of all the Board of Directors of the 506th Airborne Infantry Regiment Association have a great Memorial Day!
Thank you for your Service yesterday, today and tomorrow.
Last week we celebrated the 15th Biannual 506th Airborne Infantry Regiment Association gathering at Fort Campbell, KY. It was 30 years ago that Vietnam Veterans met at Fort Campbell, KY to create the idea and the opportunity for Currahee’s to gather and share stories, reconnect with their fellow Currahee’s, and build something greater than themselves.
It was pointed out at our general membership meeting last week that this is a historical mission to keep the lineage alive, document and support our current Currahee’s from 1st and 2nd Infantry Battalions. They provide the Currahee life blood which will be the future Currahee Veterans that can carry on the mission of the 506th Airborne Infantry Regiment Association.
A special thanks to Vietnam Veterans from Task Force 3-506 Infantry - Stand Alone Battalion for attending and dedicating 250 506th pavers at the Currahee Memorial site at Fort Campbell, KY. We would not be the 506th without you all. Currahee!
A big shout out to the 1st and 2nd Infantry Battalions for the hosting the Distinguished and Honorary Member of the Regiment induction ceremony, allowing us the visit their unit areas to show off the new weapons systems and capabilities, meet with their Currahee’s and listening and see how they train and ready themselves for their next rendezvous with destiny.
Lastly, we want to thank Casey Jones Distillery for donating the two tour and tasting opportunities, Edward’s Steak House for accommodating the no host dinner and the Old Glory Distillery for the venue (great food and drink) to host our Regimental Dinner.
It was an outstanding Rendezvous at Fort Campbell, KY last week and gave us all an opportunity to talk about our battles buddies we will meet on the high ground one day, and the thanks for living in the land of the free and truly the home of the brave - The United States of America.
God Bless you, your Families and all of our Currahee’s of yesterday, today and tomorrow!
Currahee - then, now and always!
