Pastors and church leaders are making their way from all across the Bugiri District and beyond to the remote village of Nakigunju. They are leaving their homes, their families, their churches, and the work that normally fills their days. They will stay here for two weeks.

And they have come for one reason.

They want to know the Word of God.

For many pastors serving in these remote villages, there was never an opportunity to attend Bible college or seminary. Yet every Sunday they stand before people who look to them to rightly open up the Scriptures. They counsel marriages. They bury the dead. They pray with the sick. They lead churches. They answer hard questions.

That is why these weeks matter so much.

Beginning today and continuing through September 11, we will sit together in Nakigunju and study. We will open our Bibles, ask questions, wrestle with the text, correct some things that need correcting, and strengthen what is already there.

This is our third term of study in the Bugiri District.

I wish some of you who make this possible could sit in that room with us for just one day. You would understand.

These men are hungry to learn.

RHMI is able to bring this training into such a remote place, provide instruction, and make it possible for these pastors to step away from home and study because friends and partners have chosen to stand with us.

Your giving reaches farther than you may ever see.

It reaches Nakigunju.

It reaches the pastor sitting with his Bible open.

And eventually it reaches every person who will sit under his teaching when he goes home.

So as we begin today, would you pray for us?

Pray for clear minds. Teachable hearts. Strength for these long days of study. Pray for those of we who will teach. And pray that when these pastors return to their villages, they will handle the Word of God more faithfully than when they came.

That is why we are here.

Equipping leaders.
Strengthening churches.
Transforming communities.

Yesterday, our Raising Hands Ministries team concluded three days of instruction and ministry among our brothers and sisters in Rhino Camp Refugee Settlement, Zone 8.

It was a demanding week. Long days. Multiple languages. Lessons translated again and again. But through it all, the Word of God went forth, and we left believing that what God had planted there would continue to bear fruit long after we were gone.

Pastor Alex Messamore broke open the Word of God, and together, our voices were lifted in praise and adoration of the one true and living God.

And then came what, for us, was the perfect conclusion to our time together.

We remembered JESUS.

In a simple shelter in a refugee settlement in northern Uganda, we took the bread and the cup together.

Different nations.
Different languages.
Different histories.
Different circumstances.

But one Savior. One cross. One family.

For a few sacred moments, the word refugee seemed to disappear. There were only brothers and sisters in Jesus Christ, gathered around the Lord’s Table remembering the One who purchased us with His blood.

“For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes” (1 Corinthians 11:26).

Today, we begin the long journey back to Jinja. We leave tired, grateful, and deeply aware that it has been a privilege to serve here.

Thank you, RHMI team, for finishing the week strong. Thank you to everyone who prayed, gave, and helped make it possible for us to carry the Gospel and biblical instruction into this remote place.

Now we ask you to pray once more… for journey mercies as we make our way home.

Rhino Camp, we came to teach you.

But once again, God used you to teach us.

Look closely at these pictures.

This is a classroom.

There are no finished walls. Rough poles support a tin roof. Plastic sheeting provides shelter. The journey to reach this place in northern Uganda is long, and once here, the days are longer still.

But beneath this simple roof, the Word of God is being opened… and lives are being changed.

Raising Hands Ministries is presently in Rhino Refugee Camp, Zone 8, Madi Okollo District, conducting another Discipleship Boot Camp for pastors and church leaders.

They come carrying many beliefs.

Some are biblical. Some are cultural. Some have been handed down from teacher to student for years without ever being carefully examined in the light of Scripture.

Our prayer is that they leave carrying something stronger:

CONVICTIONS.

Not because RHMI said it.

Not because a missionary said it.

Not because a denomination said it.

But because they have opened the Word of God for themselves and become thoroughly convinced:

“This is what God has said.”

Teaching here requires patience. A single lesson may be translated two—and sometimes three—times so that everyone can hear and understand the truth in a language familiar to them.

It is slow work.

But discipleship has never been about how quickly we can cover material.

It is about how deeply the truth takes root.

And then you look across this humble gathering and see an elderly person bent over a Bible worn from years of use. You see pastors taking notes. You see church leaders listening intently and searching the Scriptures.

Suddenly, the long road upcountry doesn’t seem quite so long.

Because these men and women will return to their churches, villages, families and communities carrying what they have learned with them.

We are discipling those who will disciple others. And God is already at work among us.

Thus far during this Boot Camp, seven people have confessed faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.

Seven lives.

Seven stories.

Seven people for whom the Gospel is no longer merely something they have heard about… but the Good News they have personally believed.

Jesus said there is joy in heaven over one sinner who repents. Today, we rejoice over seven.

And to those who faithfully support Raising Hands Ministries, we want you to understand something:

You are in these photographs too.

We could not travel these long roads into remote and isolated places without you.

Your generosity puts fuel in the vehicle. It provides teaching materials. It helps feed pastors and church leaders while they study. It allows us to keep going farther down the road… places where theological training is scarce but the hunger for biblical truth is very real.

You may never travel to Rhino Camp. You may never sit beneath this tin roof. You may never hear a lesson translated three times. You may never meet these pastors or know the names of the seven who have confessed Christ.

But you helped us reach them.

And perhaps one day, in eternity, you will discover just how far your generosity traveled.

The road is long.

The work is demanding.

The need is enormous.

But Christ is worthy.

And Raising Hands Ministries remains—

Sometimes sharing the Gospel means crossing a street. Sometimes it means crossing a lake.

Pastor Alex Messamore recently led a Raising Hands Ministries International team to Kisma 1 and Kisma 2 islands carrying with them a simple but eternal message for the children and young people there:

Jesus loves you. Jesus sees you. And Jesus came for you.

They traveled by boat, gathered children beneath the shade of trees and in simple rooms, opened the Word of God, shared the story of Christ, prayed with them, and then shared something to eat and drink.

These children are not statistics. They are not photographs for a ministry report. Every face represents a life precious to God. Every child deserves the opportunity to hear that there is a Savior who knows their name and loves them beyond measure.

Jesus said:

“Let the little children come to Me, and do not hinder them; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” — Matthew 19:14

I am deeply grateful for Pastor Alex and member of this RHMI team who was willing to go. Ministry is not always convenient. Sometimes the road ends and you get into a boat. Sometimes you sit beneath a tree. Sometimes your sanctuary is simply a patch of grass filled with children.

But wherever people are found, the Gospel belongs there.

This is Raising Hands Ministries.

Going where they are. Teaching them who Jesus is. Loving them in His name.

And, by God’s grace, we will keep going.

Week 2 of Term 2 of the RHMI Bible Institute is now underway in the small village of Nakigunju, tucked away in a remote region of Uganda’s Bugiri District.

And once again… they came.

Pastors.
Church leaders.
Men and women who traveled difficult roads because they refuse to handle the Word of God carelessly.

They have returned pumped, passionate, and prepared for serious study… serious discipleship.
In much of the world, theological education is convenient. In places like Nakigunju, it is costly.

These pastors leave behind farms, families, churches, responsibilities, and income opportunities just to sit under biblical instruction from morning until evening. They come hungry to learn. Hungry to grow. Hungry to rightly divide the Word of Truth.

There is something deeply moving about watching leaders in remote villages study Scripture with tears in their eyes and notebooks in their hands.

No spotlight.
No applause.
No celebrity culture.

Just ordinary people with extraordinary hunger for God.

And perhaps that is where true revival always begins.

Please remember these pastors, church leaders, and our teaching staff in your prayers over the coming days:

— Pray for strength and endurance.
— Pray for understanding and spiritual growth.
— Pray for unity and doctrinal clarity.
— Pray that these leaders will return to their villages equipped to disciple others faithfully.
— Pray that God would raise up strong churches throughout Uganda through the faithful teaching of His Word.

The need is great.
The harvest is vast.
But God is still calling laborers into the field.

And in a small village called Nakigunju… they are answering that call.

We are grateful to be at the forefront of equipping pastors and church leaders in Uganda with a true understanding of God’s Word.

Testimonies like these show the great need for solid biblical training in Uganda, and they also show how God is working through these trainings to bring genuine transformation in individuals, revival in ministry, and growth in the Church.

Alex Messamore is currently in Uganda. A few days ago, he traveled with the Raising Hands Ministries International team to Luuka District for a discipleship boot camp. During the training, he taught pastors, church leaders, and church members how to share the Gospel effectively.

We thank God for this great moment. 45 students at Global Theological Seminary have graduated.

Dear graduates, congratulations. You worked hard, you finished your studies, and most importantly, you kept the faith. The Bible says, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith” (2 Timothy 4:7). May God use you for His glory as you go and serve Him.

We also thank everyone who supported these students through prayer, encouragement, and finances. Your help made this possible. You are part of this victory.
