Purple Pansies Pancreatic Cancer Organization

Raising money for early detection and research for Pancreatic Cancer and to aide families suffering monetarily from this terrible disease.

Pancreatic cancer has the highest mortality rate of all cancers but receives only 6% of research funding. We are dedicated to raising money for much needed cancer research and to help families within our community suffering monetarily from this terrible disease. Purple Pansies was founded by Maria Fundora who lost her loving mother, Iluminada Milian, to pancreatic cancer in 2007. Purple Pansies is

a way to honor her Mother, spread her lesson of compassion, and carry on in her footsteps by helping others afflicted by the disease that took her away.

We are so blessed to have the wonderful Brian Smith playing this summer at the World Series of Poker donating a portion of his winnings to help our fight to end pancreatic cancer. He will be playing fully decked out in Purple Pansies kit, going ALL IN FOR THE CURE! Thank you Brian, Stack ’em high and rake ’em in!💜

Our very first fundraiser, was held by our founder Maria in 2008, in her restaurant in Alpharetta, GA. This year will be our 17th Annual Fundraiser and our determination and drive to conquer this disease are stronger than ever.

“Here’s to beating the odds together!” Teona Ducre – Pancreatic Cancer Survivor.

Today is the last of Teona’s wonderful videos in her Tuesday Takeover series, made in the run up to her 10-year survivorship! Teona was the very first recipient of one of our Purple Pansies Emergency Grants. The program was initiated by Janice Chalovich in 2020, in response to wanting to address the immediate need she saw amongst pancreatic cancer patients and their families. To date, we remain one of the only organizations in the USA fighting pancreatic cancer, who provide much needed financial support to patients. Six years on, we are proud to have provided 97 Emergency Grants to individuals across 24 US States. We thank you again Teona, for being such a valued supporter of Purple Pansies and our mission, we love you lots and here’s to your next 50 years of thriving! 💜

Tomorrow is Lions Day at Casa Nuova, and this wonderful organization have decided that they’ll be donating whatever they raise to Purple Pansies!

Wed. Apr 1, 2026 - 4:30-9:00pm.
You can participate however you would like: make a reservation, place a to-go order, order catering, purchase a gift card, or even purchase something from Cork & Glass next door. At least 20% of the takings for the day will be donated to Purple Pansies!

Today is a day to honor physicians for their expertise, responsibility, and continued commitment to patient care. But we could not be more thankful every day for the extraordinary physicians we are privileged to call our friends in our fight against pancreatic cancer. So a special shoutout today to Dr Daniel Von Hoff, Dr Andrew Page and Dr Erkut Borazanci, just to mention a few. We continue to be both humbled and amazed by the true dedication and skills you possess, while treating your patients with respect, humanity and as the unique individuals that they are. Thank you is not nearly enough. 💜
