The heat index was off the charts and so was the generosity of our Orange Bag households yesterday. Our dedicated crew of volunteers transported SO MANY donations to our food bank partners. Thank you everyone for an awesome pickup!

You've packed bookbags. You've packed lunch bags. The final exam this week is packing your Orange Bags AND remembering to have them outside by 9 A.M. on Saturday August 8th. You've got this!

We haven't had any special requests from food banks for Saturday's pickup, but as school gears up, pantries traditionally run low on prepackaged snacks. Peanut butter/cheese crackers, pretzels, granola bars, fruit snacks, applesauce, dried fruit, etc. are all great options.

It was a scorcher of a morning but not even the sun could outshine our orange bags, our volunteer shirts, and our determination to help neighbors in need. One of our food bank partners even went from being completely barren to running out of space thanks to your donations! Thank you for your support, and we'll see you in August.

You know the feeling. It's the night before a pickup and you realize you forgot to buy donations (or maybe you're the social media manager and forgot to post a reminder all day)! Sometimes people think they shouldn't put out a bag if it's not filled to the brim, but the truth is we appreciate donations of any size. Please have your Orange Bags (full or with just a few items) outside by 9 A.M. tomorrow, Saturday June 13th. We mean it when we say EVERY can counts!
