For the past five years, our family has had the joy of hosting a driveway bake sale that grew far beyond anything we imagined. What started as a simple idea from the girls—bringing people together after Covid and helping puppies—became a loved tradition. For so many.
Each year, the sale grew with more vendors, more volunteers, and more generosity. At our peak, we had nearly 70 community vendors, incredible support from local businesses, and friends who poured their time, talent, and heart into making it special. Not a single Forsyth County business ever turned us down. It was truly a labor of love.
This year, however, we will not be hosting the bake sale. A combination of factors led us to this decision. It’s an incredible amount work on our family and weve experienced major changes since we started. The SEC Championship schedule 🏈 and the Cu***ng Christmas Parade moving from morning to evening created challenges for participation. Even so, the event continued to grow and served our community well.
The icing on the cake was a series of mixed messages from our HOA board. Eventually, we were asked not to host the event at our home again. At one point Jared thought it may work out, but community standards were updated in a way that prevents us from holding it this year. This event was a joy for our neighbors and we never caused congestion on street roads or safety issues.
While several friends and organizations offered to host, moving the event is extremely difficult. For 24–48 hours beforehand, our home becomes bake-sale headquarters—staging donations, organizing vendors, and beginning setup a full week prior. Relocating everything simply wasn’t feasible.

We are incredibly grateful for every baker, vendor, business partner, volunteer, friend, and neighbor. The support, the turnout, the joy, and the impact on the Forsyth County Humane Society were only possible because of this amazing community.
Thank you for five unforgettable years!
