Dear Cumberland 4-H Families and Friends, Welcome to the 2026-2027 4-H year! Whether you are a returning member or considering joining us for the very first time, we are thrilled to kick off another exciting year of learning, friendship, and horsemanship.
The Cumberland 4-H Horse & Pony Club is open to youth ages 5 to 19 who have a passion for horses. You do not need to own a horse to join—all you need is a desire to learn and a love for animals. Our club focuses on developing leadership, responsibility, and teamwork through hands-on equine education, safety, stable management, and community service.
Here is what we have planned for the upcoming year:

* Monthly educational meetings and guest speaker presentations
* Hands-on horse care, grooming, and safety clinics
* Community service projects and fun group social events
* Opportunities to participate in local and regional 4-H shows and events

Our first informational meeting of the year will be held on October 25, 2026 at 3:30 pm at Rula Equestrian Services-767 Columbia Rd, Columbia, VA 23038. This meeting is the perfect opportunity for new families to ask questions, meet our club leaders, and learn how to officially register for the new year.
If you know any other young horse enthusiasts who might be interested in joining, please feel free to forward this email to them.
We cannot wait to see familiar faces and welcome new friends into our 4-H family. If you have any immediate questions, please reply directly to this email.
To help us prepare for our first meeting, please let us know if you plan to attend by replying with your child's name and age, or let us know what specific horse topics they are most excited to learn about this year.
Best regards,
Jessie Rula

I would like to recognize local businesses, organizations and individuals that financially supported Cumberland 4-H'ers and enabled them to attend Jr. 4-H Camp this Summer. I realize that a simple thank you is not enough. Because of your generous support, youth were given the opportunity to develop leadership skills, practice life skills and learn the value of citizenship. 4-H'ers had new experiences, made new friends, and learned lots of new things during Jr. 4-H Camp. You made that possible!!

A HUGE 4-H SHOUT OUT to:

Marion Brothers Logging Inc.
C. F. Marion Trucking, Inc.
