Dr. Jean "Doc" Guay named 2026 recipient of the Hall's Malcolm Greene Chace Memorial Trophy for "Lifetime Contributions of a Rhode Islander to the Game of Hockey".

For 50 years, "Doc" served as the team physician for Mount St Charles Academy in Woonsocket, RI tending to the medical and orthopedic needs of countless Mount players, including many grateful future NHLers. His reputation was wide spread - selflessly providing the same medical services to all of the high schools and youth programs in northern RI, as well as the Mount’s fiercest rivals. Dr. Guay, who sadly passed in 2008, will be honored at the Hall's 2026 Enshrinement Celebration & Dinner on Aug 15th at Rhodes-on-the-Pawtuxet in Cranston. Tickets available at 401-864-6191.

Congratulations to Cumberland, RI's Brody Berard, committed to Northeastern University.

Brody starred with the Youngstown Phantoms of the USHL this past season. Already 6' & 195 lbs, he is a physical, shutdown-style defenseman who projects as a top pairing blue liner for the Huskies. Just 16 years of age, Brody is projected for arrival in 2028 where he will help open the new NU arena and usher in a new era of Husky hockey. Best wishes, Brody

On this day in 1990, Pawtucket, RI's Howie Rosenblatt was selected 26th overall by the Boston Bruins in the NHL's 1990 Supplemental Draft. Howie played at his hometown Shea HS before starring at Merrimack College. He enjoyed two stints with the Providence Bruins over his 9-yr pro career. Here (on the right) in 1997, Howie enjoyed his most productive and proud season when his Quad City Mallards captured the CoIHL’s Colonial Cup Championship.

Happy Birthday, David Littman! "It's in the Game"

Although born in Flushing, NY in 1967, David was raised in Cranston, RI and famously created the Hockey gaming franchise for EA Sports. But first, he became a standout goalie at Providence's LaSalle Academy before his two Hockey East All-Star selections with Boston College. He repeated those laurels on a greater stage when he twice captured the AHL's "Hap Holmes Memorial Award" with the Rochester Americans for allowing the fewest goals against in the 1991 & 1992 seasons. David suited up with our P-Bruins in 1994 after stints in the NHL with Buffalo and Tampa.
