A shout out to the group from Oregon and California heading down the Canal this morning. I always love meeting all the people who come to visit our beautiful area! I hope you have a great trip and come back to visit us again! Also, I'd like to note all the different license plates in the long term parking lot this morning. Illinois, New Mexico, Massachusetts, Virginia, North Carolina, and always our neighbors, West Virginia and Pennsylvania. Thanks for visiting. We appreciate all of you!

When your an ambassador for the GAP and it even works at Blue Goose in Hancock. On my wayto the C&O canal trust dinner I stopped for a snack. I met two ladies from Belgium, who were headed to Cumberland. Of course, I gave them an ice cream cone and answered several other questions about what to say and where to eat.

Mountain Maryland Trails today had the privilege of presenting the C&O Canal Trust a check for $10,000 to repair the washout at the 165.9 mile, just below Oldtown.
Part of our efforts to help our communities trails recover from th storm on May 12/13.
It was wonderful to see the efforts of the NPS to repair the damage.

Calling all volunteers! Join us on August 2 for a day of projects at Paw Paw Campground! Last year, over 30,000 visitors made a trip to Paw Paw Tunnel, making it one of the most visited sites in the western section of the park. Nearby Paw Paw Campground is operated by the National Park Service and heavily used during the summer months. Help us keep the campground and surrounding areas in good condition!
