Join WVU Extension at the WVU Reedsville Farm on Wednesday evening, August 20th at 6pm to learn about the possibility of using a drone to manage your pastures and hillsides! The instructor will explain how it works, what the benefits to you are, and perform a live demonstration. This drone can spray or spread liquid herbicides, lime, fertilizers, fungicides, and dry granular substances. It's often used to spray soybeans, ponds, golf courses and a lot of hay fields and pastures for broad leaf weeds and invasives brush such as Autumn Olive, Multi-Flora Rose, and Honeysuckle.

The Maryland Department of Health (MDH) Office of Food Protection, in partnership with the Southern Maryland Agricultural Development Commission (SMADC), a division of the Tri-County Council for Southern Maryland, is offering a free, online Cottage Food Workshop on February 22, 2024, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Established Cottage Food businesses, farmers market managers, farm vendors, retail food stores, and anyone looking to start a home-based food business are encouraged to attend.
