Sheriff Craig Robertson is proud to announce that we will be holding our 4th annual No Shave November. Once again deputies from the Allegany County Sheriff's Office along with officers from Frostburg City Police, Frostburg State University Police and members of Allegany County Department of Emergency Services will put down our razors for a good cause.

This year's event will benefit Jeremiah Strong a local 3 year old little boy battling B cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. All donations will go to Jeremiah's family to help with medical bills and anything else they need during this time. Please see the flyer for donation information.

For the past 3 years the Deputies and Staff of The Allegany County Sheriff’s Office road and correctional divisions, with the blessing and encouragement of Sheriff Robertson, have voluntarily taken part in “No-Shave” fundraising activities.

These activities consisted of allowing male deputies to grow their beards and females to paint their nails pink during the month of November. In order to participate, each staff member was asked to donate an amount of money towards this campaign and to try and solicit additional donations in the forms of votes for beards or simple monetary pledges towards the causes to which the monies were donated. We would like to thank the many businesses and community members that donated to this years event, without you this would not have been possible.

This year the program began in October to allow for an extra month of fundraising. In previous years the money was donated to local charitable causes and organizations as well as needy individuals. This year it was decided that the money would be used to show appreciation for the hard work invested by our local dining staff. Deputies visited various restaurants throughout the county during their normal meal times in December and left charitable tips with thank you cards showing our appreciation towards a profession that was one of many hit hard by the COVID pandemic. We want to extend our thanks to the continued dedication and resolve shown by these hard working employees and businesses of Allegany County.

This year we are doing something a little different. Since the start of No Shave November we have selected a single charity or person to be the benefactors. This year we are trying to help many more folks in our county and bring a little Christmas cheer to them. Stay tuned to see how our secret little plan unfolds.

In the meantime anyone willing to donate to our cause please see any Allegany County Sheriff's Office Deputy or stop in our office at 695 Kelly Road.
