Good morning, CCARES

Yesterday, David, Paul, and I installed the two main parts of the AREDN mesh WiFi system at MaryCrest Manor! This will provide a local area network for our logging on FD, bit that is just for starters! This infrastructure will provide good, solid data communications for the foreseeable future! One of the next big things for our host there is to install security cameras there. Connected to our network, which will be viewable in real time as well as recorded for future use.

Good afternoon, CCARES!

Yesterday, Paul, N6BTF, Vlad, KM6RNJ, Fred, Ki6RJN, Dan, KO6CFE, and I installed the support structure and put up the Diamon Loop 60 antenna. It is built for 2MHz to 30MHZ. Fred measured the SWR across that range and matching looked very favorable across the ham bands.

Then we attached a radio and wow! The noise was very low! We heard signals on 20m as far as Barbados. We checked 15m and 10m and the low bands as well and heard many strong FT8 signals on 15 and 10m and Argentina very clear on 10m!

Invite your friends and come on out! This Field Day is going to be a lot of fun!

Today we reflect and remember those who have given the ultimate sacrifice. Let us honor the bravery and selflessness of our fallen heroes. 🇺🇸

City Hall is closed today and will reopen on Tuesday. Culver CityBus is operating on its Sunday schedule. City Council will be held on Tuesday, May 28th.
