🌟 Young Professional Spotlight: Tanner Wise 🌟

Meet Tanner Wise, a fifth-generation farmer from Buckingham County whose roots in agriculture continue to shape his work and community involvement today.

Tanner grew up on his family’s cattle, sheep, and poultry farm and was actively involved in both 4-H and FFA, earning the Virginia 4-H All Star Award and the American FFA Degree. He went on to earn an associate degree in agribusiness from Southside Virginia Community College and a bachelor’s degree in animal science from Virginia Tech.

After beginning his career as an agriculture teacher and FFA advisor at Orange County High School, Tanner now serves as a loan officer with Farm Credit of the Virginias in Culpeper County. In this role, he helps farmers, rural landowners, and homebuyers pursue their goals, whether they are starting or expanding an operation, purchasing land, or building a life in a rural community.

Tanner joined Culpeper Young Professionals after starting with Farm Credit and has enjoyed connecting with others through monthly luncheons, ribbon cuttings, and community events.

Fun fact: Outside of work, Tanner enjoys fishing and spending time with friends.

August Young Professionals Spotlight!

🌟 Young Professionals Member Spotlight: Mary Rose Hanson 🌟

Meet Mary Rose Hanson, Brand Ambassador for Xpress Copy & Graphics! A family owned local print business celebrating their 20th Anniversary on June 13th. In her role, Mary Rose spreads the good news about Xpress and their wide range of offerings while building meaningful relationships throughout the community. With a deep passion for people, she loves being the face of a company that values connection just as much as quality—and it shows in everything she does.

Mary Rose wasted no time getting involved with Young Professionals. In fact, she attended her very first YP luncheon on just her third day on the job and has been an active member ever since. She enjoys being part of the group because of the strong connections she’s made and the genuine sense of community she continues to find within YP. Originally from Burke, Virginia, Mary Rose moved to Culpeper eight years ago and has made it home in every sense of the word.

Outside of work, Mary Rose has a passion for theatre, especially singing, and loves spending time with her kids. Her connection to the YP charity Operation First Response is deeply personal, she grew up surrounded by veterans, including both of her grandfathers. Having them in her life gave her a strong appreciation for service and has helped shape the way she grew up and continues to live her life today.

We’re so glad to have Mary Rose as part of our Young Professionals community!
