Our thoughts and prayers are with all those affected.

Today, our downtown community experienced a devastating fire that has impacted both Zandra's Taqueria, Culpeper Machine & Supply Co and other businesses.

We are incredibly grateful that no injuries have been reported and that the swift actions of the Culpeper Fire Department, emergency responders, law enforcement, and supporting agencies helped protect lives and prevent further damage.

Our thoughts are with the owners, employees, customers, and families connected to these beloved downtown businesses. They have contributed to the character, vibrancy, and economic vitality of Downtown Culpeper, and we know this loss will be felt throughout our community.

Culpeper has always been a resilient and compassionate town. In the days and weeks ahead, we encourage our community to continue showing the support, kindness, and encouragement that make Culpeper such a special place.

On behalf of Culpeper Renaissance, we stand with everyone affected and remain committed to supporting our downtown business community as recovery efforts move forward.

Thank you to all of the first responders who worked tirelessly today, and thank you to our community for coming together during this difficult time.

Had a fantastic weekend in Spring City, PA for the 4th year of Pennhurst Paracon. Spent lots of time exploring the buildings, catching up with other teams in and around the state, enjoyed great food, and had nice weather to top it off. Always worth the trip.

On behalf of our team, we are beyond sad to learn of the loss of our longtime friend, Max Lacy. Over the years, Max provided us many open opportunities and was always so supportive of us, among others. He was very involved in his community and always ready to lend a helping hand to all, whenever needed. We will so miss our conversations with him. Our high appreciation for his friendship will continue on.

Had the opportunity to visit Natural Bridge State Park this past week, and within that, Saltpeter Cave. During the war of 1812 and the Civil War, soil was mined for potassium nitrate, a key component of gunpowder during this time. The cave is historically significant, and its resources were even leased by Thomas Jefferson. A park ranger shared that the site has been no stranger to supernatural and paranormal activity. Hikers over time have reported the same apparition description of a soldier who is said to still roam the old cave.

Rainy, dreary nights always make for a good time to investigate. We spent our Saturday evening conducting EVP sessions and SLS cam sweeps in an old location, once a Civil War field hospital. Enjoyed having our friend and recent raffle winner, Amanda, join us as well. Thank you for coming out and always being so supportive.

A great friend of mine who travels out west often, shared these pictures of the World Famous Clown Motel, located in Tonopah, Nevada. As I’m sure many of you have heard of this location, the motel is known for its creepy atmosphere, extensive clown collection, and alleged paranormal activity. Built in 1985, adjacent to the old Tonopah Cemetery, the motel has now become a popular tourist destination due to its creepy charm. Guests and staff continuously report ghostly activity, with some rooms (specifically room 107, a site of a murder) having an unsettling history. With a variety of claims and haunted reputation, would you choose to book a stay for the night? 🤡
