Especially meaningful as this award comes from GW’s first woman president in its 200 year history, which is fitting for the work and purpose driving this journey.

A new addition to my library shelf—my hard‑copy dissertation. 📚

This milestone reflects years of learning, research, and community support, and I’m deeply grateful to my faculty, family, and especially my husband for walking every step of this journey with me. ♥️

Most of all, this accomplishment belongs to my daughter, Giselle—my love, my life, and my greatest inspiration. You absorbed every article, every late night, and every lesson along the way. You gave me the confidence to begin this work and the strength to finish it.🥰

Honored to share that I’ve been selected as a recipient of the Marquardt 100 Research Fellowship in The George Washington University - Graduate School of Education and Human Development, Human and Organizational Learning EdD program!

The fellowship recognizes doctoral research advancing leadership and learning across cultural contexts. My work examines how Appalachian women develop leader identity across the lifespan, and how this research lives on through Run The World - Appalachia, a nonprofit translating scholarship into leadership development opportunities for women in West Virginia.
