🍀 Support the DeWitt County Livestock Judging Team! 🍀

We are selling our “Leaders Aren’t Born. They’re Grown.” 4-H blankets for $30 each!

These are a super soft fleece-style blanket and are perfect to keep at home, throw in the car, or take along on those early-morning stock show and judging trips. 💚

🍦 Blankets will be available at the 4-H Ice Cream Social tomorrow night!

Can’t make it tomorrow? Contact any DeWitt County Livestock Judging member and they can help you get one.

All proceeds benefit the DeWitt County Livestock Judging Team and help support team travel and scholarships for our members.

🐂🐑🐖 **COME JUDGE WITH US!** 🐐🐄

The **DeWitt County 4-H Livestock Judging Project** is kicking off a new year, and we are looking for kids who want to join our team!

**No livestock judging experience is required.** Whether you know livestock or have never judged a class before, come give it a try! We’ll teach you how to evaluate livestock, make decisions, take notes, and learn to defend those decisions through oral reasons.

Livestock judging takes work and practice, but along the way our kids build skills that go far beyond the show ring — **confidence, decision-making, communication, teamwork, and the ability to stand behind their choices.**

📅 **KICKOFF CAMP — MANDATORY PRACTICES**

👨‍👩‍👧 **Mandatory Parent Meeting: 6:00–6:15 PM**

✏️ **What to bring:**
• Pencils
• Paper
• Steno notepad
• A willingness to learn and work!

These first two practices will serve as our **Kickoff Camp** and give new and returning members the foundation we need to get our season started.

If your child has ever wondered what livestock judging is all about, **this is the time to come try it.** You don’t have to know how to judge — that’s what we’re here to teach you.

Tonight we had the first annual Dewitt county livestock judging banquet where we honored past coaches Jennifer Kelley and Holly Hartman and now retiring Stacy Finney as well as Anthony Netardus and Greg Gossett for their support and. Dedication. We took time to celebrate this past years accomplishments and and those of the past two years. We are so blessed to have a dedicated group of judgers.

Yesterday the DeWitt County Livestock Judging Team took 10 members to the District 11 Judging Contest and we had a successful day. Junior members included Lori Roper, Emma Luddeke, Kaylee Fisher, Austyn Baros and Charlotte Doehrman - the junior team was 5th place team, Charlotte was 1st in beef, 10th in sheep/goats, and 9th in hogs and 3rd high point individual, Kaylee was 7th in hogs, Emma was 10th in beef

Intermediate team consisted of Jase Baros, Zoe Doehrman, Taylor Beebe- team was 3rd place and Jase was 6th high point individual, 9th in beef, 8th in sheep, 10th in reasons, 7th in hogs, Taylor was 4th in beef and 18th in reasons, Zoe was 9th in swine, 5th in reasons, 7th in beef and 7th high point individual

Seniors only had two but they rocked it
Carly Metting was 3rd high over all qualifying for state - she was 7th in beef, 3rd in sheep/goats, 3rd in reasons, 7th in swine

Jana was 7th high point, 5th in sheep and goats, 8th in reasons,

I am beyond proud of this group 5 of the this was their first year to judge 4 of the group have only been judging 2 years and 1 has been judging for 6 so they have worked very hard to place

First we want to share how excited that all of our high school senior team members Wyatt Luddeke, Sawyer Parker, and Percy Torres signed with Blinn College on Friday as members of their incoming freshman livestock judging team. We are beyond proud of all of you and expect that we will be hearing great things. In the past several years DeWitt County has been proud to watch our kids judge as a Blinn Buc.
