THE BEST WAY TO STAY AWAY FROM SIN.
“That night the LORD said to him, “Take your father’s bull, and the second bull seven years old, and pull down the altar of Baal that your father has, and cut down the Asherah that is beside it and build an altar to the LORD your God on the top of the stronghold here, with stones laid in due order.” -Judges 6:25-26
Repentance is not just simply turning away from sin.
It is turning away from sin AND walking towards God.
Don’t just tear down your old altars. Build a new one to the Lord.
So often we think that Christianity is not practicing bad behavior and you’ll be good.
That’s religion.
Christianity is turning away from these things but then getting closer to God.
That is the best way to avoid sin.
It is to stay near and draw close to God.
The best thing for us is to stay close to the One who created us.
Don’t just replace your idol with another idol.
Build an altar to the Lord and surrender it all to Him.
