Michigan’s “Lake Michigan Hallmark Christmas Towns” Road Trip takes you to experience eight beautiful stops filled with glowing Christmas lights, decorated downtown streets, old-fashioned holiday traditions, and charming waterfront towns that look like scenes from a Christmas movie!

Beginning in South Haven, you can visit the famous lighthouse, explore decorated shops, and enjoy the Holiday in the Haven parade and tree lighting. Saugatuck and Douglas bring cozy boutiques, holiday shopping, and Douglas Light Night, complete with caroling and Santa. In Holland, you can browse the Dutch-style Kerstmarkt Christmas market and see the historic De Zwaan windmill surrounded by 1,000 glowing LED tulips. Grand Haven celebrates with its Jingle Bell Parade, featuring dozens of illuminated floats and a community tree lighting. Ludington and Pentwater offer charming lakeside streets and holiday shopping, while Ludington’s Aglow on the Avenue Parade welcomes Santa. Manistee brings Christmas from another century with Victorian-dressed carolers and draft horses pulling a towering Christmas tree through downtown. Charlevoix features Earl Young’s storybook Mushroom Houses, built using local stone. Finally, Petoskey and Harbor Springs offer beautiful holiday shopping streets, gaslights, and Harbor Springs’ famous Christmas tree standing right in the heart of downtown!

Earlier this summer, St. John Evangelical Lutheran shared some wonderful news: in honor of their 120th anniversary, they selected Project Concern as their charity of choice! Their congregation generously collected donations all season long. On Sunday, October 11th, Patrick had the honor of joining them for worship, followed by a beautiful celebratory luncheon at the Pulaski Inn, where they presented him with a $3,500 check toward our new home. We are so incredibly grateful for their partnership!

The Rev. Dr. Matthew C. Harrison, having received more than 50% percent of the votes cast in the third ballot for the election of the president of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS), is the president-elect for the 2026–2029 triennium. It will be his sixth term in office.

May the Lord richly endue him with strength for continued service and make him a blessing to the Synod and to the church.
